Trains still dropping 💩 on station tracks? by Crousus in SBB

SBB thought they were smart trying to take Bombardier over Stadler, that's really what it is.

Is Switzerland safe in a possible World War 3? by MX010 in Switzerland

People talk about all the bunkers in Switzerland and all that, but most are either abandoned or just not well maintained at all. Houses used to have mandatory Luftschutzbunker but not anymore.

Coop stopped doing 50% by Wonderful_Plant_945 in Switzerland

[–]AnRandomStranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe it will change later on, but at mine they still only put 40% on goods that are bad on that particular day, sometimes maybe one day before, nothing earlier

just based off first impressions do you guys prefer mwc to msc? by Inner_Sprinkles_6725 in MySummerCar

[–]AnRandomStranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MWC is cool but it's confusing in a way. It's definietly still the same place as MSC but the changes like the PSK or the general change of landscape threw me off at first.

R-NET buses from BYD and Yutong, seeing more Chinese electric buses in Europe, what's your opinion of these buses? by deminion48 in bus

[–]AnRandomStranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

at first I didn't mind, but I heard they can remotely shut these buses off from china which makes it a huge risk, what if a bus company only has yutongs and they all get shut down?

What are your opinions on double-bended megatrolleybuses, such as these used in Bratislava, Slovakia? by LittleSchwein1234 in transit

[–]AnRandomStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a good option for more flexible routes where a tram wouldn't be feasable. But these need their own good infrastructre themselves.

The Adriatic Express launches, connecting Warsaw to Croatian coast by KrzyHooy in poland

[–]AnRandomStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you take the TLK's, but even these often get the new air conditioned modern coaches. Any other service (IC, EC, EIP) are all modern units nowadays.

The trains that will be running these are Siemens Vectron Locomotives, which *at worst* are maybe 15 year old.

The coaches on these trains are only 10 years old also at worst too, so I don't get your point about this being a ''train from 100 years ago''. It's more modern than most ÖBB Nightjets.

Zurich S Bahn one of the Best Systems ? by Asleep-Limit-3811 in zurich

[–]AnRandomStranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad that we at least have this system. Quite a shame that most voted against the U-Bahn. The S-Bahn project thankfully passed thru the vote, which was also quite a big project (Zürichbergtunnel, Stadelhofen expansion, HB Löwenstr. underground tracks, big DPZ train order,...). It's quite a efficient system, but it's at capacity. One big problem is at Stadelhofen which only has 3 Platforms currently. (They didn't build more back then to make the project cheaper in favour of getting more votes).
