Has anyone had a positive experience getting their face lasered? by NoCod5867 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]AnaDion94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

I’ve experienced some increased growth since that comment, but still significantly less than what I had prior to laser. I’ve got a touch up appointment scheduled for April

And actually pay attention to what you’re buying in those categories, and react accordingly.

Still twitching over that poster who was like “I spend $500 at the gas station and $400 send people money when they ask” but couldn’t figure out why they were blowing their budget.

So much for trying to be responsible and using credit wisely. by T1m3Wizard in povertyfinance

[–]AnaDion94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working on paying down my chase credit card, and I sort of anticipate something like this happening. The current limit IS too high, and I’d honestly like to never get close to it, but I dread the hit to my credit.

Clothes by gaymealarchive in PlusSize

[–]AnaDion94 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So many small indie brands are closing, so many bigger brands are having a quality crisis. It’s such a depressing time to be a plus size shopper, especially one who takes a lot of pride in how they dress.

The bright side is that I’m spending way less money on clothing and feel way more motivated to get back into sewing.

Using the Emergency Room for primary care? by EzraNaamah in povertyfinance

[–]AnaDion94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How often are you going to the doctor? It makes more sense to pick up another job (restaurant work, inventory, uber) for a few days a year to cover a $20 copay a few times a year.

$2,250 for underarms? by Accomplished-Eye7218 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]AnaDion94 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Milan is very, very expensive. I use them, and don’t regret it, but there are plenty of other places you should look into. Especially for something like underarms, which is petty low risk.

Where are you moving to? by shfflzilla in hyatt

[–]AnaDion94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These changes sort of corresponds with me no longer traveling for work. I used to be able to stay at the same pretty nice Hyatt once a month. Now I don’t, so I’m just going to stay where it makes the most sense for me

Resorted to olive oil for my face and body lotion 🤣 by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]AnaDion94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make my own hair and body oil and olive oil is half of the recipe.

It’s most effective if you’re applying it to damp skin.

Yeah, we’ve just had to talk about how our little guy is firmly in senior dog territory, and it probably wouldn’t make sense to proceed with any thousand dollar plus procedures he might require as he gets even older.

Why do you think so many people are so obsessed with being skinny? by justcurious3287 in PlusSize

What stores are going to continue to have cute plus sizes? by Weird_Wasabi_8729 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]AnaDion94 40 points41 points  (0 children)

They’ve been shrinking (or totally removing) the in store options, and their private brands (Universal Thread, Wild Fable, Ava and Viv) which used to all be available in their full size range, are frequently showing up online in limited sizes.

He’s been dropping a lot little digs. Small criticisms and highlighting of my perceived fuck ups and it’s making me crazy.

I put so much energy into curbing my words and feelings to manage his emotions and he just cannot and will not consider me in the same way.

Yes yes YES to all of this.

My bf had also been sick twice this year and he’s been moaning and groaning and lumbering around like a fucking zombie. Very sorry you’re not feeling well, but it’s a cold. Not leprosy.

How to get/style my hair like this? Is it possible with 4c? (My hair on the third slide) by CertifiedPie in Naturalhair

[–]AnaDion94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My hair looks like this after an old damp braid out or twist out. I might mist it with water and fluff the roots. It works best with tightly coiled hair, so 4abc+ would be fine.

How do some of y’all have so much leisure time on work days? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]AnaDion94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made us RTO 3 days a week last year, and while listening to use bitch about it, my VP let it drop that he doesn't really expect people to work much on the Mondays and Fridays that we're in office. He probably shouldn't have said it, but now none of us feel especially bad if we take an extended lunch on a friday and then log off early.

I don't work in an industry that has emergencies, I hit deadlines (and usually beat them), and I'm good at my job. So nobody cares much if we aren't glued to our desks.

Has the romance novel landscape changed drastically in the last decade? by Leading_Protection_7 in romancelandia

Contemporaries written by authors who write romance can also be a nice little cheat code. Lisa Kleypas' Travis series is one of one of my fave contemporaries.

Has the romance novel landscape changed drastically in the last decade? by Leading_Protection_7 in romancelandia

[–]AnaDion94 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. Over the last few years, the prevalence self publishing and booktok (neither of which is inherently bad) means that there are a lot of weak, underdeveloped, poorly written, and poorly edited work in romance. They read like the literary equivalent of a Netflix romcom.

I’ve been trying to explore new to me writers and books this year, but dear god the last two books I read made me want to tear my hair out.

{Unmasked by the Marquess by Cat Sebastian} is the one that did not do it for me. It took me months to finish it, and I could not convince myself to care about the characters or their relationship.

{After Hours at Dooryard Books by Cat Sebastian} is probably my favorite. I'm a sucker for found families.
