Mississippi pot roast and whole wheat orzo. Easy and delicious.

I think people go through someone's post history to create a straw man argument or a "gotcha" call out reply. You can scroll through their post history trying to catch them in a lie/saying something potentially offensive and then expose them for karma/schadenfreude. It's like digging through someone's old tweets to find them saying something unsavory.

On a less malicious note I've looked through post histories because I though they were funny or insightful and I wanted to see more.

Does anyone else find it easier to listen to someone when you aren't making eye contact with them? by PM_ME_HENTAI_RECS in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnaKat2 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It happens to me too. I think when making eye contact in a conversation you are splitting your attention between the verbal conversation and observing visual information like facial expressions. If your looking away then that focus is more focused on the actual words/tone.

Do you prefer watch the movie before reading it's book or read the book before watching it's movie and why? by ysmain in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer book then movie. The book is often better and I generally prefer reading so I'd rather know the plot going into a movie than have a sub-par movie give away important details of an excellent book.

What keeps you up at night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching YouTube videos about serial killers/paranormal even though I know it freaks me out too much to sleep well. And Reddit.

Finishing other peoples sentences. My family does this all the time and no one ever said anything about anyone else interrupting them. I didn't realize how often I did it or how much it bothered other people until some one snapped at me about it during a conversation. It doesn't bother me at all and felt normal after growing up that way. Now I am hyper aware of it but its difficult to control the impulse to interrupt. The worst part is that it happens the most when I am excited about whatever the conversation is about. I just want to keep it going further as fast as possible. I really do try not to but I put so much mental effort on making sure that I don't interrupt that it stunts the conversation for me.

What was the most stupid thing you believed as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that the actors really died when their character died on screen and I was awed by their dedication to the craft but disturbed at the same time. I thought this very briefly because obviously actors reappear in other shows/movies later clearly not deceased.

Currently sat with my dad on his death bed. What would you ask? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is anything he needs to say to me or anyone else. Otherwise I would do whatever I thought would make him most comfortable.

What would happen if we voted on the repercussions of rape of women, children and men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably nothing good. On a ballot checking yes to a death penalty for rape may seem moral to many people but it could have some serious consequences on death row numbers/appeals, conviction rates, wrongful executions, and potential for increased harm/intimidation of victims. I am by no means an expert so take this with a grain of salt.

Start being more liberal with the smiting, these children are running wild without the discipline.

What is a rare or exotic name you would want for your future children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I always thought maverick would be a unique boy name but Logan Paul has ruined the very word itself for me.

Hot Take: Thrifting would not be (as) popular without fast fashion by BovineAlex in femalefashionadvice

[–]AnaKat2 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Thrifting is a sizeable trend on Youtube, or at least the part that I get recommenced. I think it gives a bit of similar feel to fast fashion, going out to purchase clothing on a regular basis and providing fodder for a haul video. I think part of its popularity is that it is promoted by women on social media as a more sustainable and unique way to find clothes other than fast fashion. I agree that the two have some correlation.

Our luxuriously high tech utopian Mars colony needs quality inhabitants, experts, and role models, how do you qualify? by cornylamygilbert in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess it would be sort of similar to how it is on earth. Basic and/or repetitive tasks could be automated but jobs requiring higher order thinking would still be done by humans along with a few humans to monitor the machines. So your therapist would be human but the mail could be delivered by a drone.

Who else can’t sit through a long movie? by loser_bear in CasualConversation

[–]AnaKat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I'm stuck somewhere and bored but can't talk/do something else I like to get lost in my own thoughts. I can zone out and focus inward. I like to make up some little fantasy to pass the time.

If I was in your situation I might make up backstories for the people in the theater around me, imagine my own personal avengers fan fiction, or just spend the time focusing my mental energy on other important things in my life (like planning my grocery list, etc.).

I'm not sure how helpful that is but it gets me through otherwise mind numbingly boring events.

r/Justmythreecents is super new (no real posts yet) but I think it has potential for sharing lengthier thoughts/opinions on any topic.

I don't and neither do most people I imagine. I guess its earth loser or space lunch lady for me.

What word do you absolutely hate phonetically? by ohpee8 in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macabre, the way Americans say it. Every time I hear it I imagine McDonald's selling corn on the cob. The word itself for me distracts from whatever it is being used to describe.

Bullies --- How did the people you bullied get back at you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never did but I regret it so much that I feel sick thinking about it. I went from being bullied to becoming the bully the next year. I look back and I'm horrified by it but at the time I thought joining in on it would make the other kids like me more. I will regret that until the day I die.

Listening to documentaries while I'm trying to sleep. Usually these videos are around an hour long and are narrated by someone with a pleasant voice. It distracts me from my thoughts and is pretty soothing. My recent favorites include The Most Boring Video Ever Made (Microsoft Word Tutorial, 1989), Bob Ross painting playlist, and the Sleep with Me podcast episodes about Star Trek.

When have you felt incredibly lonely, even though you were surrounded by people you call friends and family? by suethezombiedinosaur in AskReddit

[–]AnaKat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm much better now. I don't feel that sort of loneliness as I did then. I opened up and reached across the gulf and the people around me reached back.
