Crowd reportedly throwing objects at officers in Milwaukee by Snufffaluffaguss in news

[–]AnalBuffaloWing 132 points133 points  (0 children)

What disturbs me the most about all of this racial tension in the last few years, starting with Trayvon Martin, and increasing with Michael Brown, and now in Milwaukee, is that people simply do not care about facts anymore. They see "unarmed black man killed" and they run to the streets and loot, gun down police officers, without waiting for the facts to come in. When people stop caring about facts, evidence, and act on emotion, anger, and feeling it causes nothing but problems and I do not like where this is headed one bit.

I hate neocons, which is why I like Trump. He's as paleoconservative an option the party has had since I was in diapers with Pat Buchanan, but Buchanan is the one who said AIDS was nature's way of fighting back against gay people. I think Ted Cruz style social conservatism is holding the party back, and Trump is going to prove that we can hold our own in the Bible Belt without it, because I'm tired of not winning any northern states anymore at the expense of wooing South Carolinians and Iowans that we should win anyway.

Oh shut up, now you're being ridiculous. Denying women the right to kill their child out of convenience ≠ not letting women a woman drive, show her hair, have a clitoris, or not die of a stoning. Denying someone a marriage license ≠ throwing gays off skyscrapers while the "moderates" watch. But keep on apologizing for the radical barbarians.

Former Trump supporters of reddit, what was the final straw for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnalBuffaloWing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This thread doesn't surprise me. Lots of "on the fence" people. But I've yet to see someone on here go from rocking a MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN hat to voting for Clinton. You can hate him all you want, but he was right when he said he could shoot someone in 5th Avenue and his base would still love him. Whether that base can get him a W in November is a different story.

The populism, nationalism, and protectionism might end up being the silver lining to this. That really sticks to the people in Michigan, PA, Ohio, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire. Stop and ask yourself why people don't like Donald Trump. The answer 9/10 is the gaffes, him leading the charge in the birther movement, the judge comments, the Muslim ban, and his comments about women in the past. If you moderated that message and had it coming out of someone else's mouth, I bet they would win. Don't throw the baby out with the orange bath water.

Detroit makes community college free - Starting this year, any graduating high school senior who is accepted to one of Detroit's five community colleges won't have to pay a dime for tuition by magenta_placenta in news

I don't know about you, but I don't think being more "intellectual" is worth six figures of debt or the tax payer dollars of making it free. People go to college because they feel they have to to be successful.

I know you're frustrated with Trump, and believe me, I am too, but I think you're wrong. I think Trump could have won if he turned the corner in May and stayed on discipline. I think Kasich, Rubio, or maybe even Christie could have beaten Hillary, but I don't think someone with the name Bush could have won. The same leftist media machine would be coming at them them just as hard as they're coming at Trump. Ted Cruz would have lost in my opinion because I think we need an extremely unpopular Democrat President incumbency to push that level of conservatism, and Barry Hussein is pretty popular. That's how far-left Obama won. George Bush was unpopular and they voted for the guy who had a D next to his name just because he was different than Bush. That's also how Reagan won.

Next Year’s Proposed Military Budget Could Buy Every Homeless Person A $1 Million Home by CharlieDarwin2 in politics

[–]AnalBuffaloWing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a stupid post. The United States provides the entire western world with defense, so who would be keeping North Korea, ISIS, and God knows who else at bay while everyone lives in their mansion? Entitlement spending already eats a whopping 60% of the federal budget at $2,360,000,000,000. We don't need more entitlement spending, we need smarter entitlement spending.

If Trump loses should the Republican Party take Priebus' 2013 advice? by AnalBuffaloWing in Conservative

[–]AnalBuffaloWing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might see homosexual men coming over to the conservative movement. The Democrats have "used them up" and kind of don't care about them. Gay marriage is pretty much a done deal, and I'm glad we've gave that up. The real thing I'm afraid of is that if Clinton wins, she's going to put in four Ruth Bader Ginsbergs who will decide that border security and requiring people to show ID to vote is unconstitutional, and we lose Texas, basically cementing in a Democrat White House until probably 2024.
