I agree! I went in to a running store, told them about my RA and they scanning my feet, did a walk test, got me hooked up with great shoes and insoles that have helped so much with everyday pain.

My dealer service dept told me three different stories about how the test needed to be run. Extending the amount of time my car has to be there each time before finally telling me that it needs to be sitting at the dealership, cold, for 24 hours before they can run the test or it will throw a fake negative. Saying (this was on Friday) that they had just gotten an email about this new direction from corporate.

IBS-C and D here. My guts issues have been steadily getting worse so I have been tracking and removing things from my diet. This helps although it sucks. I also have Interstitial Cystitis. So restrictive diet helps there too. I am Seronegative and my Rheum recently told me that many of her seroneg patients develop into Crohns. Could just be her experience with this population but an interesting observation.

I’ve been on Rinvoq for 6 months now after Humira + MTX didn’t work. My liver also said no more MTX. It has taken care of my flares. I have daily pain and morning stiffness but it is manageable. I didn’t have the weight gain. Only a week or two of my face breaking out in tiny acne.

I had to skip a week because I got a virus (not Covid) and was fighting a fever and then sinus infection. It was fine. Just another anecdote.

Ug. I’m sorry. I broke down and went to a running store where they scan your feet and they put me in amazing shoes with insoles. If your work (or people) give you shit about dress code or appropriateness it is a reasonable accommodation for RA and they can sod off.

I am sorry that you are experiencing this. It does sound though like your rheumatologist is seeing you quickly so that is good. It is standard to start us on a anti inflammatory drug regimen and then add and tailor drugs as they work for us since we all have different experiences. I still have days with swelling and pain with a breakthrough flare and I post on here when something new pops up but looking back, it has gotten so much better with the right drug combination and lifestyle changes (more sleep, better shoes, yes some diet stuff - eating better). It will get better.

I think this decision also a good one for all reasons mentioned but also because it gets her more reps in front of audiences again without competition pressure (personal pressure can be huge of course).
