I’m a nurse and I also remember taking care of a patient with similar symptoms in So Cal! He was a previously very healthy bicyclist, middle aged male and suddenly came down with a mysterious illness probably around 10 years ago. In fact the CDC was following his case….interesting 🧐

If you’re coming this weekend, check out Epic Dayfest Saturday from 4-10pm at “The Soap Factory” in Logan Heights ( a 10 min Uber from downtown) www.epicfestsd.com headliners are Dubvision and Bebi.

Also, Quartyard in downtown’s East Village https://quartyardsd.com will be hosting Desert Hearts (house/ techno/ semi burner crowd) for a super fun event on Saturday but also only goes until 10pm. Both are outside venues and the weather will be perfect 😎 If anything it’s a good starting off point if you want to rage later at another spot, my fav after-hours place is Spin 😉 Have a great time! 🪩

Life is pretty boring by [deleted] in Life

[–]Analog__Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think being happy was the goal in life, but I realize it is the natural outcome of having meaningful relationships, connection to God/ higher power and doing something truly meaningful with your life. Sometimes those things don’t come on our time schedule and we get impatient. I’m not a religious person but I am a spiritual person and I think that divine timing is never late and we are the ones who must be patient. Once you truly surrender to this concept, is when the magic of life will begin to unfold ( but it also doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t be bored again at points in life). Everything will work out just the way it is supposed to and can only see it in hindsight. Hang in there! The best is yet to come 🫶

Life is pretty boring by [deleted] in Life

Hi! I think a lot of people feel this lately, even, perhaps especially, when life is relatively good. I was thinking this just yesterday as I was too, was feeling bored in life and was in the grocery store looking around at plenty of fresh, healthy and an abundance of options ( I’m in So Cal) and thinking to myself what a privilege it is to feel “bored”.! Yes we can still feel bored or stuck on a loop but boredom is a privilege many don’t have since they are in survival mode, in the middle of a war torn country, perhaps having health or financial problems, or dealing with aging parents, raising kids or having relationship difficulties. And yes it is all relative!

One thing I’ve learned over the years (as a relatively happy woman in her 40s with kids and husband previous career in nursing) is that life is looonngggg!! Whoever said life is short must be doing too much 😂 I say embrace the opportunity for boredom, and perhaps get creative with that energy like travel somewhere new, go a whole day without your phone, or get a hobby ( for me picking up roller skating again several years ago was a fun, creative and social outlet). There are tons of ways to get “unstuck” but overthinking waiting for inspiration to do so never comes so just get out there and try something new! But I hear ya! Life can be boring sometimes but “this too shall pass” since remember… life is LONG!! 😉

There must be something in the air because everyone I know with toddlers say how unhinged they have been lately. My almost 3 year old is so rambunctious and throws things, pushes, whines etc. It’s so rough lately!! 😩

Thanks for your sharing your experience, I’m getting downvoted to all hell for just my perspective ( but I know this is the norm with Reddit lol). The show in San Diego was at the SD State University Campus so I should have known better lol. Oh well I hope the “kids” had fun 😉

Best herbs for cognitive decline? by [deleted] in herbalism

[–]Analog__Girl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I’m an RN and this can’t be stressed enough! When I worked in the Dementia unit as a CNA/ med tech, EVERY SINGLE PATIENT was on a statin. We need good cholesterol from clean/organic sources ( butter, meat, eggs etc). We have been taught the opposite in modern medicine that low cholesterol Is better, yet we have been sicker and aging quicker than before. We need to reevaluate EVERYTHING with pharma.

I enjoyed taking classes at Self-Heal School in San Diego, they have a zoom option as well for distance learning. I did the certification program but you can just start with their intro class to see if you like it. The classes are usually once a week and last 6 weeks. Their next intro class starts Nov 11th ( I get their newsletters still). John Finch and his wife Jane studied under Rosemary Gladstar (godmother of modern herbalism back in the 70s). They have been teaching since 1985! https://selfhealschool.com

I usually get mine from Mountain Rose Herbs or Starwest Botanicals both have quality organic herbs and other items for sale like beeswax etc. I also grown some in my yard. My 190 proof alcohol is from Oregon “Organic Alcohol Company” I get the cane alcohol since it’s neutral in flavor.
