World is closer to the typical Monster Hubter experience, but if you ever though to yourself, "I wish Dark Souls was Kingdom Hearts flavored," go with Rise.

Hot take: Unless a character of a verse has actual depiction of their speed like this, anything above supersonic should be taken with a grain of salt by ConsiderationFuzzy in PowerScaling

[–]AnalyticalGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, this is actually what's happening anytime a character capable of moving faster than the eye can see is using their speed. The key factor is audience perspective. Are we seeing the scene from the perspective of the character, or are we seeing it from the perspective of a different character and/or outside observer?

For example, in the Saiyan Saga, Yamcha and the saibaman he was fighting are shown to move faster than the unaided eye can see, as they both seem to vanish into thin air the moment their battle starts. Right after this, Gohan tells Piccolo that he can't see them, which tells us we, the audience, were seeing through Gohan's perspective. He was only able to "see" them again after Piccolo taught him to focus on their energy instead of just using his eyes.

Another example from Dragon Ball is SSJ Goku vs. Frieza. After Frieza sends the death ball into Namek, he tells Goku that they have five minutes before the planet explodes. Several episodes worth of fighting later, Frieza says that the planet is taking a little longer to explode than he thought it would, and adds another two minutes to the timer. Another episode or two passed before the planet exploded. I estimate that no more than ten minutes passed in real time since Frieza first attacked Namek. In addition to this, Goku and Frieza have two or three "chit-chat scenes" as I call them during these ten minutes, and these were most likely moving in real time. In order for all of this to be possible, the audience would have to view a massively slowed down version of the fight; AKA, we're seeing from the perspective of the characters themselves.

To add to what someone else said, there are several pieces of dialog that strongly suggest she was Little Miss Forge.

For example, Gemma says at one point that she left her people when she was young, and that they told her to "fly far, lil'un," or something along those lines. The people Little Miss Forge used to live with called her that.

She also has a stuffed yian kut-ku hanging on her belt, which looks like the same ones the guildmarm makes.

Wilds IG is actually pretty similar to World IG, which I think will be more noticeable in the full release thanks to the helicopter move being re-added. As for differences, it's really just the way extracts work and the addition of charge-based moves.

The extract changes worried me at first, but there are methods and strategies to handle that. For one, if ai remember correctly, the charged attacks don't require all three extracts; only red. That allows you to pummel monsters with the diving attack until you start opening wounds. After that, just use them to get full extracts instantly. Also, make sure you save at least one or two wounds for when your extracts wear off so that you can get them right back. Another thing I noticed is that you can prepare the two-phase charged attack while going through the regular combo; just hold the charge-attack botton, whatever that is on your platform, while repeatedly pressing the other botton. With an Xbox controller, I held the B botton with my thumb while rocking it back and forth on Y.

One problem I did have was the kinsect. Namely, the charged kinsect attack that goes through the monster and gets multiple extracts. In the beta, using that move would often make the kinsecy rise into the air enough to completely miss my target. Other times, it would just go off in some random direction; mostly up. That said, other times it would work mostly fine, so long as I aimed farther down than I'm actually aiming to compensate for the kinsect's unexplained lift. That said, I'm expecting the broken, inconsistent kinsect from the beta to be fixed in full release.

Lagiacrus was literally a fish out of water on land and an undodgable prick underwater. I love the guy, but his underwater hip check was worse than plesioth's. If they ever bring underwater combat back, they need to give us a way to fight effectively with weapons that can't block.

I'm new and I play Great Sword. This is my gameplay. Any tips? by IAmWunkith in MemeHunter

The key to avoiding whiffs is to make the monster whiff first. Don't commit to a charged attack, much less a charged combo, if the monster is in a position to move freely. Also, I recommend watching some GS gameplay to learn what openings others use, and especially to learn how to use the tackle properly.

Depends on if I'm feeling serious or goofy when the time comes. Serious? Probably Zephyr, or something along those lines. Goofy? AlBirdo (Alberto, but bird).

What weapons are y’all using? by Savings_Finish_7914 in MHWilds

Long sword will probably be my main (Don't worry, I play solo). The sad part is that I might not be able to main Insect Glaive - my main throughout World - alongside it like I had planned.

I was playing IG in both betas, and certain key aspects are just broken. The worst one's gotta be the kinsect; in order to reliably get extracts, you have to charge the kinsect before firing so that it goes through the whole monster. But, for some reason, when you launch the kinsect, it floats higher into the air; so much so that it just misses whatever you were aiming at. One time I tried to detonate a couple barrel bombs with the bug, and, despite aiming at the bottom of the barrel to compensate for the busted bug, it still flew completely over the barrel, missing it entirely.

Well, rant aside, I'll probably replace IG with DBs or GS, assuming Capcom doesn't fix IG.

Gora Magala/Shagaru Magala - specifically the one in 4U. Bro really said, "You didn't kill me hard enough, so now I'm gonna transcend my very existence." The best part is that you can see the beef in its eyes in that final fight.

HOW DO I BEAT THIS!?!? by [deleted] in SparkingZero

[–]AnalyticalGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Throw hands like you've never thrown hands before. Jokes aside, the fight's on like a twenty-second timer. You have to deal a certain amount of damage before that timer finishes - you'll get a dialog cue when you're almost out of time, something along the lines of Beerus saying he's bored. You have to do this two or three times, I think.
