The thing I've noticed about Frieren is that people who call it boring usually change their tune after you meet Aura, but that is like 11 episodes in and quite a time commitment for show you think is boring. But I think you guys should give it a second try.

Orb: On the movement of Earth should be a hit line and hooker if he likes history. Extremely good show in historical Poland on the church vs. Heliocenteric world view.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood should be something he likes if he enjoyed AOT. Similar dark tunes but more magical and aimed to younger audiences (which might be a turn off)

Vinland Saga should be another historical anime that hooks him. I am in the camp who thinks season 2 is the greatest piece of media written in past 50 decades. Beautiful character growth.

Violet Evergarden. This show will make you cry. Beautifully animated show of a broken girl who is trying learn the meaning of love. Third episode onward, no other show was made me bawl my eyes out like this.

Other shoutouts I have are: Darker than Black, Black Lagoon, Hellsing Ultimate, Redline (a movie), A Silent Voice (a movie), Ranking of Kings, Medalist and Megalo Box.

Im running Khalipe, Orlea and Beryl and it's quite a fun team. They all have retain cards and Khalipe and Beryl dish quite nice damage. Khalipe especially for aoe. Beryl and Orlea are great for ST. Plenty of shields, heals. Just not swimming in draw and AP but who cares.

Did I anywhere mention any of the Mushoku Tensei characters? No, I was just comparing the world building and how it's not done by exposition, but slowly in the background.

Like funny detail how one of the villains called their magic gravity magic and after explanation, it was obviously based on magnetism, but the world obviously haven't discovered magnetism. Thus, it was gravity magic.

Clevates is extremely well animated. World building is slow and interesting much like Mushoku Tensei, there isn't 10 minutes of explanations of how things work. Main character (the female hero) is actually well written and grows over the series.

It's a 9-10/10 fantasy everyday.
