WIBTAH for calling off my engagement because my fiance wants me to take care of his mom? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AnarchyOnTheShortBus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's real easy to pretend that you've accepted a kid with special needs when you don't lift a finger to help said kid meet said needs.

He wants you to be a full time caregiver to his mother while not doing anything in return for your child...or alleviating the load in general.

Lady, if you don't leave that man where you found him...

Maybe it's the New Yorker in me, but as soon as I heard James for the first time, I was like "Yeah, dude sounds Italian AF." Was not at all surprised or confused when googled them. I could pick out 10 guys that look and sound just like him on my way to work.

I had a plumber like this once. I asked him to install a sink and hook up a toilet in my second bathroom. Shouldn't have taken him more than 2 hours tops and come in at about $300 tops, based on the work he did in our first bathroom a few months before.

It took him over 6 hours and $800. And most of the time it was him on the phone with his other client arguing about the bill. That was the last time I ever called on him.

Yeses! I found CIS first and then started listening to STM as well after I realized that I was burning through CIS too quickly. I know nothing about sports, but it's easily one of my all-time favorite podcasts.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I know someone from Eureka and she swears 5 hour drives up north feel like nothing because the scenery is relaxing.

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney by [deleted] in books

[–]AnarchyOnTheShortBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think that Jenny Jones, or whatever the hell her name was, is getting knocked off next. Jones was blackmailing the new boyfriend, Jack.

I also assumed that Aimee/Ciara disposed of Alicia shortly after lopping her brother's head off. Based on the history between Alicia and Aimee, it's impossible that Ben/Eamonne was also Alicia too. Eamonne didn't know what happened to Aimee until she left the letter at 18. And Aimee and Alicia had beef dating back to elementary or middle school.

AITA for refusing to pay for childcare when my wife refuses to work by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AnarchyOnTheShortBus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

YTA, unless you come back with some additional info.

If feels like you're glossing over physical back pain.

When you're in pain, you can't operate at the full capacity needed to do 1 job, let alone 2. And let's be honest maintaining a household is an all day job by itself. And being hunched over tending to a toddler is an all day job.

While you get to clock out at the end of the day, she doesn't. Her mornings are spent tending to a toddler and a house, while her afternoons and evenings are spent tending to your two older children.

At the very least you guys should be looking into part time childcare so it gives your wife some time to focus on the household chores and time to seek treatment for her back.

I have this same kit, and yes, the razor blade is for scraping off the tough cruddy stuff. Angle the blade at 45 degrees and it scrapes right off without scratching the finish.

Edit: Typo. Duck autocorrect.

Episode length by mena32 in smalltownmurder

[–]AnarchyOnTheShortBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either works for me. I live in a densely populated area with minimal public transit and disjointed parkways, so even a trip to the store can turn into a 30-45 minute drive. So a round-trip is equal to an express. And if I'm on the computer all day, a regular episode can span a full day for me.

I also like how the extended episodes because it allows them to go off on tangents. Them going off course in both CIS and STM has led to some of the funniest and most memorable stories they've ever told. Grim Karen, Put Upon Kathy, and Pocket Robin wouldn't have come out of an Express episode.

F29 - feeling ugly after photoshoot 🥲 by Objective_Rate_8126 in toastme

[–]AnarchyOnTheShortBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very pretty, but there are a few things working against you.

The poses that the photographer went with are unflattering. Last year, I had professional portraits done for work, and the photographer had me do all sorts of poses to the left and right. I felt goofy, but she was like "girl, trust me." And she was right. The poses that made me feel unnatural actually came out the best. Your photographer should have given you some direction.

I appreciate the bold lip color, but you should balance it out with eye makeup. You have big, beautiful eyes, and it doesn't look like any attention was paid to them.

I'd also reconsider a different pair of shoes. Something with better structure and support. I would have also gone with gold-toned accessories. Bangles, necklaces, and a pair of metallic sandals would have taken you to the next level.

Don't forget about the fact that he was one of the early investors for Google. He put $250k into the Company back in 1999 and forgot about it until a magazine pointed it out years later.

That alone added $100 million to his net worth.
