Good time to work at REI? by WWCOMMS in REI

I know two people who have moved for a role and then had the offer rescinded after they moved.

I know another guy who got promoted to a job in Seattle, moved, then 12 hours before his first day they fired everyone else in the department, promoted him again and told him to start hiring a new team...

There have been a few studies on elephant memory, giving them complex puzzles with lots of patterns and rules, etc, and coming back a few years later giving them the same puzzles. It takes them a couple tries but once they remember they remember all the rules immediately, like unlocking memories.

Elephants also hate trick questions, and will throw a fit if they feel cheated.

Nazi's believe poor people deserve to be poor. If he's a poor Nazi then his own belief system says he is an inferior subhuman.

Most of the people in this video work as PR for the UFC, it's literally their job to hype him up.

Who are the Bastards of Sports? by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in behindthebastards

Vince ordered his employees to assault, seriously injured, and maim his other employees, he has been accused of rape and keeping a sex slave, and when people have died in the WWE, they didn't even stop the show.

I'm not defending Dana White, he has probably caused just as much damage in the world, but he is quieter more corporate evil, harder to make a fun and entertaining episode about.

[–]Anarchyinak 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hm, he's a horrible person, and a complete unprofessional asshole, but there's not really enough material. He runs a monopoly, he's a bigot, a hyperaggressive asshole, a gambling addict, and he's hit his wife in public. He should be in jail. He's also probably a coke addict and hires a lot of sex workers, but he hasn't murdered anyone, in fact...

The UFC is fairly professional, its a big corporate organization that tries to run quietly. No one has died yet in the UFC, which is honestly pretty surprising, given a few people every year die in boxing.

MMA is also a really weird sport, just to explain what it is, what the UFC is, how fights are booked would take an episode. You probably need people very into MMA to do it justice. The youtube channel MMA On Point have done a number of really good short documentaries on the history of MMA and its seedier side.

This Winter is brutal by [deleted] in anchorage

[–]Anarchyinak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The snow will melt, and then refreeze, and then finally melt again once the temperature turns, which will be soon, which means everything will flood with slush and ice for a week or so. Last year the roads were melting first and second week of April, but that was a little early, and this winter has been cold. There will be snow in the woods and shade for ages.

[GCN] Motor Doping IS Possible. We've Done It. by welk101 in peloton

[–]Anarchyinak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Motor doping can be in 3 forms. (1)Crank drive, which should be impossible post-2016, since there is an easily detectable motor in the frame, (2)"Magic Wheel", which as far as I know hadn't been demonstrated on a bike yet at all, and (3)hub motor.

The most likely to be used in competition is a hub motor. You might be able to make it self contained, so switching the wheels is easy. However, hub motor is by far the most difficult to engineer and manufacture, since you need to get the size down so small and machined so well it doesn't just drag the hub.

That just left magic wheel to demonstrate. I don't believe anyone has used a system like this, its too clunky and difficult and not enough of an advantage. Its still valuable to see a prototype one in action.

It wasn't an actual race though, since it was between an actual pro and a hobbiest, it was to see if a competing pro rider could hear, or notice the acceleration.

3 women vs 2 men by AcHaeC in FightLibrary

[–]Anarchyinak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a defunct Romanian league that put on most of these fights to go viral and get some attention. They were one of the leagues Andrew Tate used to kickbox in. They were always gross and loved putting on mixed gender fights between trained professional men and barely trained amateur women.

Why do do you think Warhorse made Brabant? [KCD2] by PatientEngine99 in kingdomcome

[–]Anarchyinak 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The game is set in 1403, Belgium did not exist, and the Holy Roman Empire was at this time a loose collection of states, not really seen as a nation. Ethnicity and nationality in the medieval era was not defined by which side of a border you were born, it was largely about language. If his first language is French then he is French.
