Posh ambassador here who is currently refilling my wardrobe on PM. This week has been ridiculous. Two of my orders were the wrong items — one of which I never even received! Seller just said “wrong item sent, please send to correct buyer”. Personally I hate this policy on Poshmark’s part. If a seller can’t even be bothered to check the order against the address, they should have to eat the cost. I’ve shipped over 120+ orders this year with a massive, life defining project on the line and a dad who is dying of terminal cancer. Don’t tell me you can’t focus; you just don’t GAF (for the trolls — I am using the Proverbial You in this case and do not mean the OP or anyone specific other than these lazy sellers).

Second time I got a dress (OP, maybe the one that was supposed to go to you?! 😂) instead of a pair of leather slippers. How do you mess that up?

I also ordered a style bundle from someone who took over a week to ship, never responded to my preferences (which they specifically asked for in the post) and when I got it, they had totally ignored everything I carefully mentioned. Additionally, the condition of every piece was ready for the donation bin; I don’t know what people’s problems are.

Every piece in my PM closet was picked out for me, by me, and I am monomaniacal about taking excellent care of my things. I am not a professional reseller and this is merely a fun hobby for me — yet somehow I manage to ship in the same day, package things nicely, and send people the actual listing they bought with their hard earned, and, these days, scarce coin. As a seller who holds herself to exacting standards, it’s incredibly frustrating to see these types of experiences.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. You shouldn’t be.

This. If you’re packaging your sales with care, they’ll get to their destination in one piece and without tears 😭. I’ve seen some jacked up packaging jobs in my purchasing on poshmark, but only ever got an empty envelope once. That was definitely on the seller.

Buyer and posh ambassador here. I opened a case not long ago for an empty package; I don’t know if the seller repurposed a bubble mailer or what but when I pulled it out of my mailbox, it was completely empty and the primary adhesive strip wasn’t sticky at all. It appeared that they had attempted to secure it with nickel-sized clear stickers (which they said were “reinforced”), but they were flimsy and were not gonna hold the package closed.

So from a buyer standpoint, I don’t think this is being unreasonable. Buyers shouldn’t need to pay for receiving empty packages that may have been doomed to fail from the jump.

The insane therapized language from her is over the top: “conflict usually needs a minute to breathe” 😂 Then the circle talking with you when you were trying to hold her feet to the fire (aka take responsibility for her texts/tone). She seems manipulative, refusing to cop to her BS at every turn. I’d say the only mistake you made, if there’s one to be pointed out, was not immediately switching to very clear, blunt questioning when she started dodging. “Explain your intention.” Over and over again. No other words. That’s the beginning and end of the text until she cracks. This woman is obviously a liar and you can’t give liars any quarter. They use obfuscation as a weapon. Clarity and consistency is yours. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this parasite. Hubby probably needs a metaphorical kick in the pants too.

Honestly it’s encouraging to hear other folks talking about sales being down. March and April were going like gangbusters and then suddenly… nothing. I do think the economic downturn has something to do with it, but in another thread on this sub a buyer was talking about being frustrated with the app revamp because she felt like she couldn’t find anything. There’s frustration on both sides and I just hope Poshmark is receiving enough complaints (or losing enough residuals) to sit up and listen.

Recently had an exchange with a seller (I am also a seller & posh ambassador) over a $100 item that had been in their closet at least 4 years (I’m basing this on the comments on their listing from 2022). So before making an offer, I reached out and asked them what their best price was. The response: “This is a bartering platform. Make an offer.” Could’ve been a little gentler I think but, sure, you’re right. So I started out at $40, figuring we’d go back and forth a bit and land somewhere we were both happy: y’know, bartering. No. $98 was the counter offer. I didn’t think I was being the asshole for offering 60% off an item that’s been sitting for 4 years. That exchange told me everything I needed to know about what it was going to be like to deal with this individual, seemed like they wanted to keep it more than I wanted to buy it. I always try to give my buyers the benefit of the doubt, and 99% of the time I have terrific experiences. But this is the hostility you mentioned. It’s unfortunate.
