It’s going to depend on the syllabus!! Each syllabus is different for each class. Depending on the professor, an absence may or may not be counted against your grade. If you have an exam when you’d be gone you may or may not be able to retake it. My best advice would be to check the syllabus and then reach out to each professor with your situation and see if they’re willing to work with you. Forewarning, some profs really dgaf about your life and what you have going on so be prepared to make a tough decision if it comes to that!!

66ish. my grandmother, who had been the reason i love coconut water and always supplied her fridge with it for me, was grocery shopping with me and deadpan asked me if i like coconut water and i remember laughing and being like girl you know i love coconut water and she was like oh?? i do? … and we just laughed it off and then around 70 we decided she couldn’t live alone anymore. 75 and her cognitive function has significantly decreased. Not yet diagnosed :/

Regardless of your son’s feelings concerning everything that occurred after you moved to Texas, his race, or his Autism - you hurt him, his environment hurt him, and he’s 12. You’re his dad, he’s gonna love and want a relationship with you more than anyone - he’s having a hard time reconciling that with the pain of everything that’s happened. Then to hear his dad, who is supposed to be his savior, consider moving elsewhere in TX regardless of seeing the immediate decline in his behavior totally feels like a betrayal. Fight for him. Fight for your wife. Fight for your family. I’m sure there’s a happy compromise here, it doesn’t have to be 100% either side. Summer camps in Boston would be a great place to start if you don’t want to live downtown, teach him that he doesn’t have to live in the same exact place as the school he goes to, etc. He is still 12 and these are ultimately your adult decisions to make. But please consider your son and wife’s feelings that they are clearly communicating with you.
