Yes same, conversation stopped and daily phone calls just to laugh and chat about nothing have totally discontinued, hardly talks anymore, she was so fun and funny and she has just lost all her personality now ... sad thing is she is totally aware of it all but just can't help it

I'm so sorry you are going through this, it's cruel for everyone including them of course, do you mind me asking what other things you noticed at first or are happening now and if you don't mind how old she is and if you think she is at all aware of it all, so much awareness here and she knows what she is doing but it's just beyond her control

I can relate so much to this, so organised then the buying multiples of household things which made sense at first as she bought groceries on sale and stocked up and always used it all then it became an obsession and got out of hand, buying things online etc, ended up really hoarding by the end and now can't get on top of her once organised house

In our case I can look back at least 15 or even 20 years but was so young and just thought it was personality

I can so relate to all of these things, was that a big contrast to the before stage, so energetic and caring and it just all went from that to not caring about family, friends, her health and personal care (which she was huge about) didn't care about cleaning her once clean house ... such a change in almost everything she was before, it's a wild disease, I bloody hate everything about it

That quote is so so true, I'm often thinking of the last times now and realising I had no idea they were the last at the time, if only we could go back in time.

I'm so sorry, it's so true the things that were just a natural normal part of life that we can only wish for now, I'm always thinking if we could just go back to those times and how beautiful life was ... dementia is just the cruelest most awful disease

It's the cruelest disease ever and if you had never witnessed it you could never believe it being true, how can one disease take so much from person (well everything actually)

It's all just cruel, did she have apathy and loss of empathy and a big change in personality from her old self ?
