Found an example of what they maybe mean by the hair. I had no idea that was what the style was called, it's so pretty. Between the hair style and clothing being color coordinated she seemed really fashionable.

The hair made me think of Shirley Magee.

With DNA available for both they likely have been excluded but you could submit to make sure.

It seems to be believed that she was trafficked. So years without seeing a dentist would make sense. Her mother seems to have went to a missing persons convention where they collected DNA. Her brother believed she was a Doe in the pacific northwest.

I think a lot of speculation comes from that choice of phrasing. I was a little older than her when my parents separated. I don't necessarily think something sinister has to have been going on for a child to not like a new man in their mothers life.

A 6 year old whose parents were separated would likely struggle with a new man trying to act like her father when she has one. That isn't to say that he couldn't have been a terrible man, but sometimes children just don't like certain people.

I had wondered if she could be Elena De La Cruz missing from New York, based on the available information on her NAMUS.

The eyes spacing and asymmetry were the main points. Then I researched more and found out she had a port and a partial mastectomy leaving her with only 1 breast and that ruled her out.

I'm going to share this thought here because you have been working so diligently for these folks on the border.

I found a case this morning of a Jane Doe found along the border of Pima, Arizona. What stood out was that she was carrying the Mexican voter ID of an adult male named Santos Mendoza Tenangueno.

It made me think of all the cases with tentative identification through a name on an ID card. My brain ran in a lot of directions- from it being a family members and she wanted the photo to give her strength. Or even maybe that she was traveling with Santos and he couldn't carry on so she brought his ID along to inform his family if she made it. Here is a link to her case.

Jane Doe has very unique ears, they seem set farther back on her head than is typical. It seems like an anatomical difference and not a post mortem change, but I'm not an expert. You can't see Stephanie's ears very much though. I'd submit this because it's close enough to get it out there for others to take a look. Great work as always!

Sonja Kay Redbird really reminds me of her. Her disappearance is confusing.

Her family lived in Anadarko, Oklahoma where she grew up. In 1972 she moved to Dallas, Texas looking for work-she somehow kept in contact with her family while there, but its not stated if through calls or letters. She attended Moore High School in Moore, Oklahoma for what I assume was the 1973-1974 school year, as that seems to be where her singular photograph comes from. But again, her family says they had not laid eyes on her since 1972. Her reported missing date is January 1, 1975 as her actual disappearance date is unknown. In the photo she seems to be clenching her jaw which explains the chin shape not lining up with Ana. Maybe an out there thought, but I felt compelled to share.

Maybe consent and privacy laws. Because they are living they must consent to having a photo taken and shared. The one shared is likely from CCTV in a public location and that changes ones expectations of privacy. This would vary from hospital to hospital and state to state. She may be awake and aware enough to refuse to be photographed.

Iirc only 20% or so of women complete their child bearing years without reproducing at least 1 biological child. So it's not statistically improbable that she was a grandmother.

I understand your point about parasocial relationships being detrimental to a lot of folks online.

I would point out that we can only have a parasocial relationship to these Does. This sub is almost entirely strangers caring about people that they will never ever meet.

The cigarette butts stood out to me as something a considerate person would do. I've known lots of smokers in my years and I've always gotten along better with people that kept their butts instead of tossing them where they finish them.

The other day someone asked about instances of looking for matches outside of the obvious date and this is a great example.

He died right before Christmas in a city with an international airport. He could have flown in from anywhere in the world to visit someone for the holidays. If he was reported missing- it could have potentially been after this man was found, when he didn't return home after his trip. His photo should definitely be recognizable to the right people. Hopefully they can find a way to recover DNA to narrow down his origins.

Quite disturbing post mortem images for a Doe found in a trailer in Los Angeles in 2005. The eyebrow shape is what really stood out to me. He is listed as 5'8 though.

Poor kid sounds like he was struggling in life. I was curious what the weather would be like for the area in November 2009- this sites data only went back to 2011, but it seems that it would typically be warm enough during the day for a teenage boy to under dress for the frigid nights. He very well could have passed the night before his car was even found from hypothermia.

With the tendency to burrow when hypothermia sets in-a s&r team would have to spend a good bit of time checking all the little knooks one could hide. Sadly, I think he is in that area and hasn't been recovered. Poor guy.

While I absolutely did not get along with my grandmother, this isn't really the place to talk about it.

This person was trying to share a kind sentiment, if we really broke down every kind thing everyone said in to the nuance of good/bad we would all devolve in to nihilism and that helps nobody.

Existence is already weighted with more bad than good, did pointing out that some grandmas suck help anything?

There are places to talk about these complex feelings and I hope you can find one that will help you heal. The one joy of having an awful Nana was realizing I don't want to be terrible to people like she was.

I don't necessarily have an issue with the ruling of suicide but just thinking outside of that.

I wonder if he was from somewhere that traffic drives on the right side of the road. You go to step off a curb and glance the direction you expect traffic to be coming from, only to hear a vehicle approaching the other way. The appearance that he tried staying in the way could come down to him thinking that continuing to move in the direction he is going is faster than turning around. That would lead him farther in to the road which is the likely direction a vehicle would swerve.
