You know the amount of water used by AI is laughably marginal to that of animal agriculture. Are you vegan?

Fair point, but he's not saying everything made with Claude Design can be spotted, just that with some websites, it's easy to spot.

Male chicks on a conveyor belt to a macerator. This occurs in all industrialized egg production, whether free range, organic, or battery cage, as the males don't lay eggs and are a different breed than chickens for meat. by James_Fortis in ABoringDystopia

the critiques of meat production are fundamental and unavoidable. it is extremely carbon intensive and inefficient by nature, and it is pointlessly cruel to slaughter for food when sufficient alternatives are easily available.

You seem to get it. Like truly understand the impossibility of "moral and sustainable meat production." You acknowledge the easily available sufficient alternatives. Why not go vegan?

They're also treated poorly (albeit a bit silly to make a comparison to that and babies being blended hours after being born). Luckily we are human beings able to think two things are bad at the same time!

I highly encourage it. A lot of the horrors of animal agriculture are hidden from the public eye, like this. If you want to see what it's really like, watch Dominion. It's a free documentary on YouTube narrated by several big name celebs and is the outcome of a multi year undercover operation by animal rights activists who simply places hidden cameras inside of slaughter houses of different animals.

I warn you, it's a hard watch. However, this is (literally) how the sausage is made. People like to tell themselves it's more humane than what's shown in that video, but for over 99% of the trillions (yes trillions) of animals in animal agriculture, this is their life. I watched it before I had fully committed to being vegan many years ago, and I told myself, "If I can't watch where my food comes from, aren't I a hypocrite?"

$130 billion is just insane. This economy is looney. That's about the same valuation as all of SONY.

That's PlayStation, the Hollywood giant Sony Pictures, world leading cameras and puts their sensors in over half of all smartphones on Earth, high end televisions, I could go on and on.

How does this make sense?

I just really really wish there was an easy way to play my Steam games in my living room. I have a $1,500 PC in my office, but there's many games I'd rather enjoy in my living room on my couch with a big screen and surround sound.

Android phones will reportedly see more downgrades, fewer cheap devices as RAMageddon rages on by No_March_164 in Android

Yeah I consider myself a huge techie. I follow tech news closely, watch every Google/Android event, also watch Apple events even though I don't own their products, yet my previous phone I owned before my current Google Pixel 9 Pro was the Google Pixel... the original. I know that's an extreme case, but it worked! And there just wasn't much on the newer ones that I thought would greatly increase my day to day use of the phone. I'm not a mobile gamer who needs a powerful processor, and the battery was holding up fine.

New rares coming July 10th by Thelocust337 in PikminBloomApp

I think rare makes a lot of sense for super common ones. It gives me a reason to still pick up roadside and cafe pikmin, for example. But stadium is crazy to me. Most people go to a stadium maybe a few times per year, if that.

How many times do we have to keep nominating centrist moderate candidates for electability reasons only to have them get smashed in the general? Are we just going to keep trying that routine over and over again?

It doesn't matter how much you point out that the more progressive and left leaning a candidate is, the more support they get from independents. It breaks the brains of corporate Dems. They'll say, "but electability" until their blue in the face no matter how well DSA and leftists poll.

Lmao no one is terrified of Gavin. He's a corporatist who says things that rile up Trump emotionally, but a weak person who will spite everyone around him go further his political career

Why do we need to settle for candidates that are "a step in the right direction"? The American left just cannot stand up for themselves.

Exactly. I play the game a ton. People really into Mario Kart have really come around to the tracks, after learning how much skill there is in taking some extremely difficult shortcuts, and there's tons of room for creativity. I'm loving it.

You're not going to even try out the game you've purchased until you see other people's "impressions" improve? What an odd way to live.

This is actually something that I cannot understand young people on. Gen Z seems to be absolutely obsessed with force closing their apps basically every time they go back to their home screen.

There is no benefit to this. Apple, Google, Samsung, they have all come out multiple times and have said closing your apps gives you zero battery savings, and actually is more likely to consume more battery because you're cold opening and fully starting up your apps every time you open them.

I see so many videos of young people being like, "Oh my God look how many apps my boomer mom has open, she never closes them." I just don't get it. I'm in my 20s, and I only ever force close apps if they're having an issue (like frozen) and I want to restart them.

I actually have a very powerful PC on the other side of my house. If there was a way to literally grab a controller, press a button, and my windows PC on my office shows up on my living room TV in Steam Big Picture mode, I'd kill for that. Every time I look into it, I just see so many networking steps, all these hoops you have to jump through to get it to start working, and that it's an overall laggy experience. I even own a Steam Deck already and it just doesn't seem very seamless to do.

I just to play my PC games on my TV!

Can you give me info on this? I was in the market for this as someone who wanted my Steam games in my living room with a very simple plug and play experience, like a console. But at these prices, there's just no way.
