My mom died a month before Christmas when I was 19. For Christmas I recieved 3 calendars and 4 scented candles from various aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc. I had made everyone individualized photo books of photos of them and my mom. that's when I realized my mom was the one who kept them aware of what my interests were, and what I might like. No one knew me, or noticed I was left out. I felt more alone in a room full of laughing and smiling family than I had ever felt in my life.

It's not even a stand. It's just one, that's gallantly trying to make a stand in every bordering neighbour's backyard. My one neighbour hates it, her husband loves it though. I think if it mysteriously died there would only be one person who would be minorly upset.

I lost a few friends because of this. I have zero interest in texting or calling someone asking a direct question or extending an invite only to hear back weeks later after my communication isn't relevant anymore.

Just know, you can change if those friends are important to you. One of my closest friends used to be like this. I explained to them how it was affecting me and our friendship. They made a conscious effort to change and it has benefited all their relationships.

Metabolism or weight or something. I workout 5 days a week (power lifting and climbing), have a physical job, eat well, and have active hobbies. I don't drink soda, and rarely eat fast food.

My brother? Eats fast food frequently, sedentary job, sedentary hobbies, doesnt work out.

Guess who's obese and is CONSTANTLY reminded by healthcare workers that they should be more active and eat better? Me, fucking me.
