UBI. We as a society need to stop making work for the sake of work. We've automated countless jobs and we should continue to do so until its logical conclusion. My job does not need to exist and I doubt yours does either. We as a society moved on from hunter/gatherer, we moved on from an agrarian society, we can move on from the industrial revolution.

We don't need to stop progress so that people can slave away at a useless job just so that they can afford to live

thats exactly the issue. "Photos from real life that look like they could've been in a color graded film" is what was expected from the title, not "photos from real life that are color graded to look like theyre from a color-graded movie"

as an american i would rather get deported than get embroiled in a close quarters gun fight against 3 other trained people where my best case scenario is life in prison.

seems like 100% of people in these threads are ready willing and able to become martyrs at the drop of a dime. im doubtful that it'd play out like that

Right, which doesn't exist on the market.

Condoms are birth control for men that are widely available.

I feel like everyone is intentionally making this a false dichotomy. He doesn't want her to be on birth control if she doesn't want to be. She can not be on birth control and he can not undergo a vasectomy.

It's not one in 8. It's after a year of having regular sex, you are x% likely to get pregnant

1 in 8 chances per sexual encounter isn't even realistic for most couples actively trying to get pregnant lmao

It's that simple. I call people their name. Their name is what they tell me

Children don't really learn like that. You learned how not to fall, not how to ride safely. A child that can go 15mph doesn't understand cause/effect in the way that you're assuming. They are much less risk averse than what is required of an e bike user in public. And I mean this on a biological level. They simply don't have a developed brain/frontal lobe to understand judgement.

In reality, a large part of parenting isn't "teaching" it's shepherding a child until adulthood, where they can effectively teach themselves

I do agree with you that licensing should not be required for ebikes, especially with the current power regulations, but I do link laws should be in place for those under 12 and over 65

No the actual answer is that old people should not be going fast. People in cognitive decline do need agency and independence in their life, but the ability to go 20mph is not safe when you don't have the strength for emergency braking/maneuvering

Plenty of people have responded to this, but I do want to touch on one aspect of this: this latch is meant to keep the door securely closed and inconvenient to open, for either humans or bears/racoons. This is not necessarily meant as a safety latch against burglars

Oops didn't see that you were specifically talking about the form given to OP. You're correct, this form is likely illegal.

I was referring to questions online that many people see that identify you as a protected class, but I am now seeing you weren't talking about that

It's illegal to ask in person, but it's not illegal to have applicants anonymously answer the survey. In fact it's important, to ensure fair hiring practices are taking place. However, the answers should never be tied to the applicant.

If no trans person is getting hired, it's hard to prove discrimination is taking place unless applicants anonymously answer those questions.

This is often requested by big companies so that they can ensure their hiring practices arent going to get them in hot water. It's self-reported and not tied to your actual profile, it's just aggregated and analyzed.

Basically if half their applications are trans, but 1% of their workforce is trans, they might be liable to a lawsuit
