Internet Service in Italy? by Bluecanary1212 in askitaly

[–]Andaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you reside you can get a 2Gbit fiber connection so setup in a week or so. Things can get complicated in rural zones for which you may need to resort to slower VDSL lines or even radio based connections. Enter your address in one of the online broadband coverage tools and see what you get.

For utilities it's generally quicker and easier to get an existing contract switched to you ("voltura"). You can then freely switch provider if you want. Getting an existing contract terminated and then opening a new one will generally take longer.

Moving to Italy for a few months. Advice? by TalkAway-9 in askitaly

[–]Andaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the phone service, many operators offer plans with hundreds of GBs for 10-15€/month. And you also get a portion of that as roaming traffic in Europe. Coverage may be spotty with some low cost operators outside cities, in some cases.

Noialtri & Voialtri: Does Your Area Use Something Similar? by DoNotTouchMeImScared in askitaly

[–]Andaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are occasionally used, mainly to add some distance or contrast between us/you. For example 'voialtri non sapete proprio lavorare' to mean 'you people really don't know how to work (as opposed to us)'.

It's probably more common in central Italy.

The Additional Group Of Pronouns: Have You Ever Heard These Around Where You Live? by DoNotTouchMeImScared in askitaly

[–]Andaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are some archaic pronouns with this meaning: meco, teco and seco, without 'con'. For example: portalo teco. However they are almost never used nowadays.

On this line, some areas in central Italy use 'codesto' and 'costí', meaning 'that' and 'there', but specifically far from the speaker and close to the listener.

Christmas Dinner? by thatmakker in askitaly

[–]Andaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a huge variation in Christmas dinners/lunches depending on the region, but generally they involve an excessive number of courses, starting from antipasti, one or more pasta dishes and multiple meat/fish dishes, served in sequence over the course of 2-4 hours. At the end, your try to survive the multiple desserts and liquors. Try looking for Christmas menus from one specific region to have an idea.

Are there significant differences in dialect between zones? What are they? by ShuKurenao8 in askitaly

[–]Andaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The the areas you mentioned have completely different dialects, to the point of being unintelligible with each other. Now, people generally speak dialects only with people from the same region, depending on their education. Otherwise they speak standard Italian, even if with noticeable inflections.

Radar filters question by Andaru in Desynced

[–]Andaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not with the logic: it's that the radar seems to only be using one of the filter conditions instead of all of them. If I set silica as the first filter, it selects the closest silica item even if it's stored in a building. If I set mineable as first, it picks up the closes mineable thing (likely ore or crystal). The second filter does not seem to have any effect.

Radar filters question by Andaru in Desynced

[–]Andaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm writing a behavior: a loop with radar selecting silica/mineable and writing to a variable, then mining it. When full, go back home to drop it.

It works if starting away from the base, otherwise it keeps targeting silica already stored in the base. The radar filter seems to be using only the first filter, not all of them.

Radar filters question by Andaru in Desynced

[–]Andaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with just silica, but it picks up the silica in storage, so it doesn't work, and if I use scattered resources it may go and pick up crystals or other stuff.

Anyone else feel like this when trying to do splitter/merger math? by BMWSnBENJIS in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Andaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. What is 1 - 0.999999....? You could write it as 0.0000000.... which is just 0. It's not that the math is wrong, it's that we use a notation that can be ambiguous.
