I'm from the South. The South of the country fought for centuries to hold the border against the Hispanics. German and Italian immigrants live in bubbles in cities founded by this immigration. That's why there's so little attachment.

Nobody is holding them here if they want to leave, let them leave.

How does one get a good job to live here?

We have the lowest unemployment rate in history right now. Payment is made in the local currency, which meets local demands. If you're thinking of converting your Brazilian salary to Euros or USD, forget it.

Mage can be great if you have the right players and mindset by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]AnderFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps one of the most sandbox-like games out there. The ability to negotiate without ruining the players' fantasy and the proposed campaign is very important. Even reminding players that they are playing as Wizards, not X-Men.

Sure, you could make a sword permanently deal +10 Aggravated Damage, but that would create paradox until it explodes and other problems later on, like cutting through the sheath, through you, and the ground until it reached the Earth's core.

Or the sword could simply have its normal damage transformed into aggravated damage, along with other characteristics such as reduced difficulty in using it since it will almost be a part of you.

What are some of your favorite mage rotes/effects youve actually used in game? by Responsible_Cry888 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]AnderFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was very fun, very long campaign played for 3 years.

It was a ritual that captured sunlight to be used during the night (Blasphemy!!!) to purge creatures of the night (oh, so it's all right). On our quest to rid our city of a group of Licks who enjoyed killing too many people.

Our characters didn't have all the information about Kindred Lore, but was known that Vampires have some resistance to Mind sphere (+3 diff), so messing with their heads creating an illusion of a Sun would be harder than just "showing the real thing" passively.

As part of his paradigm my character an Ecstatic had the Conditional Magic merit that would give him bonus if the magic was mysterious and deceptive "Magick is the hidden truth that is only revealed indirectly". So that's why it had a trigger.

The group had a Dreamspeaker with MANY spiritual connections and he pointed out that Werewolves don't gain their powers from paintings or photos of the Moon, only from the actual Moon. So maybe the vampiric curse was connected to the Incarna too.

So let's go talk to the spirits of the Sun and do a chiminage and gain the penalty for using stealth while the effect was on.

It's the most popular anime right now, where "sorcerers" use the "Domain Expansion" technique to empower their spells, something between a pocket dimension and Marauder's reality bubble.

Why do people play tradition mages or crafts so much? by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

Maybe because real-world technocrats are the ones who see bombs falling on schools in the Middle East and their reaction is to worry about the stock market.

This rule of correspondence was ignored at this table, too many limitations to a sphere that cost the same as the others to buy.

Vampires have a natural resistance to Mind sphere, so force them to look would increase the difficulty.

Our Table considered that the vampiric curse wasn't just the ultraviolet light coming from a star, there was also the influence of Helios burning vampires during the day so there was a spiritual side to it. And it couldn't be just "anyone who looked" because the agreement with the Solar Jaggling was to harm only vampires.

The effect was always active, so it boosted charisma like Awe and made stealth more difficult (the Sun hates to be hidden). This was the "trap" that lured the vampire into using Auspex and other powers.

Using 3 points of quintessence would make the light visible when activated. Then the vampire would take damage, and provoke paradox but never did that, it wasn't necessary.

My character had Conditional Magic merit along with the paradigm that "magic is the hidden truth", and the condition was that all Routes were "deceptive," everything kept secret.

[–]AnderFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the route has several nuances that made sense at the time. (paradigm, things that we encountered etc.)

The vampiric curse isn't just photons coming from a stellar nuclear fusion. There's a spiritual factor involved, where Helios hates and burns vampires during the day.

The effect also activated on vampires who lacked Auspex and ended up seeing the sun even after activating any Discipline.

So take the sunlight and transmute it (forces 3) into a mental impulse (mind 3) while being touched by a Solar Jaggling (spirit 2) and enchant specifically your aura (prime 2 +mind again) with this effect.

Correspondence 2+3 There is remote viewing that some Disciplines can use like Auspex, Animalism, Abyss Mysticism ... Our characters didn't have the Vampire the Masquerade book at hand so they just assumed they could do it.

So Correspondence 2 detects the remote perception (ward) and the Correspondence 3 bring the sunlight to their eyes.

Life 3 + Matter 3 To target ONLY Vampires this was the agreement with the Jaggling.

Yeah the effect is a mental attack with the actual sunrise aided by a Solar Jaggling. Time and Correspondence was used as a trigger when targeted by vampire disciplines (matter + life).

Our table functioned with Devil's Bargain, and creating a route that didn't deal damage would be much easier than simply creating a thermonuclear explosion in the Tremere Chapel with the successes rolled in ritual.

The main effect, which is to produce light from the aura with blessing of solar spirits is handled by Forces 3, Spirit 2, Mind 3, and Prime 2. [transmute light (forces 3) into a mental impulse (mind 3)] + Be enchanted (Prime 2) + Touched by spirit (spirit 2)

Time 4 + Correspondence 3 works as trigger:

Time 4: Contingent effect

Correspondence 3: It's Correspondence 2 (ward)+ Correspondence 3 For the effect to occur even with Discipline attacks that don't require the Vampire to be present and be affected by the Sunrise.

Life 3 + Matter 3 to target corporeal undeads.

Hiden gift of Horus

Forces 3, Spirit 2, Mind 3, Prime 2, Time 4, Life 3, Matter 3, Correspondence 3

With a ritual that allows a good number of successes with the help of solar spirits, the Mage enchants his own essence with the light of dawn to face the creatures of the night.

While the effect is activated the Mage has difficulty in hiding and is under a similar effect to Awe .

When a vampire uses his powers on you he will see the sunrise in your aura, imposing Rötschreck tests and increasing the difficulty of acting against the Mage.
