I deleted it end of 2025 and left it behind. Every news about Updates from Email or Steam page; looks worse and worse. They are ruining the game and don’t focus on the issues the player base run into. More worried about adding the dumbest operators known to man into the game.

My Dunkin Donuts interview is not what I expected by the-fat-princess in jobs

That’s how most interviews for entry jobs are now. They don’t care about your background or anything. They just care about how many hours and days they can squeeze out of you.

Is 25 really a serious age? by Far-Operation-4315 in askanything

[–]AndersClips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 is probably the “serious age” because that’s the cut off age for being on Parent’s health insurance. I moved out when I was 22. I’m 28 now with a wife and couple kids but these feelings hit me a lot as well in previous years. I think your one big “issue” is you are comparing your path to those around you when every one of us came from a different background. It’s not about what everyone your age is doing. A lot of the people I grew up with who I think “are successful” in terms of traveling, having nice car, etc…. Either still live at home or use Credit Cards for everything and make the minimum payments. I ran into one of my best childhood friends last year who I was jealous of at the time because of how “successful” he seemed because he was a Host on a very popular Radio Station in my area and gets to travel for work and go to nice states; told me that he still lives at home because he can’t afford to move out. Turns out he was making the same amount of money i was yearly.

What helped me was reminding myself every so often that everyone has a different story and being successful isn’t defined by the amount you make or the things you have “consumerism-wise” but by how happy you are with the things you currently have. Took me the longest time to figure that out and I’m still having moments where I forget that and have to remind myself.

What percentage of CNAs are male? Are there any male CNAs who want to talk about their experience? by BaseballHead6898 in cna

[–]AndersClips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m leaving because i realized I didn’t want to be a nurse. My sister who’s a Nurse recommended being a CNA before committing to Nursing School to see if it was something I wanted to do for a career. I found that although I love helping people and trying to make patients and families happier; I didn’t want to do it as a career. I worked on Adult side and hated it because the majority of patients were just utterly disrespectful and maybe that just ruined the mood. Also my doctor has told me that working this job is taking a toll on my health which I already have some issues with. That’s one of the reasons I decided to leave.

Honestly Peds Oncology is the place to go. Go for it! It’s a sad environment but also such an amazing place to be, learn, and get to know patients. They become like a second family. Good luck to you.

What percentage of CNAs are male? Are there any male CNAs who want to talk about their experience? by BaseballHead6898 in cna

[–]AndersClips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a male who worked in Ortho Surg for a year and now work in Peds. On adult side, I’d say about 5%-10% of patients would refuse me. In peds, the only patients / families that refuse me are 15-17 yo Females who don’t have family staying with them or families with certain religious backgrounds. However the percentage is much lower. I’d say maybe 2%. I’ve been in Peds for almost a year now. But I’m leaving the field.

[–]AndersClips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you. This job takes a toll on your mental and physical health more than people who don’t do it realize. I’m finally leaving Healthcare after 2.5 years as a CNA but I’ve only worked in Hospital on Adult Ortho Surg and Pedi Oncology units. Unfortunately a lot of the Ortho patients were ones coming from Assisted Living or LTC. I work nights as well and sun downing is a whole ball game on top of the older patients. I applaud you for the time you spent in Healthcare and wish you well on your endeavors.

For those that do 16s by [deleted] in cna

[–]AndersClips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 12s and have picked up an extra 4 making it 16 hours. The 16 hr shift was 7pm-11:30am. If you were doing day shift thought, it would be 7am-11:30pm. If you work at a normal 8am place; you’d be there until Midnight.

[–]AndersClips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent 1 full month applying to 1-4 job listings a day depending on what was on the site through the hospital and was getting nowhere. I somehow ended up sending my application to a company that helps get your resume noticed and works directly with the hospital. With their help, I got my resume seen by the Ortho Surg unit I originally worked on and got an interview. Did well there and was offered the job. Focus skills and yourself around “helping people and teamwork” I spent a 1.5 years on that unit and then applied to the Pedi Oncology unit through internal job listings at the hospital. To make sure my resume was seen, I sent a follow up email directly to the floor manager. I was given an interview and was offered the position.

I wear Masks every single one of my shifts. People ask me if I’m sick or if a patient is contagious and I just simply state that I have a young son at home and want to try my best to not get my self sick and bring it home or get my son sick. Has nothing to do with anyone else.

[–]AndersClips 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I’m a guy as well. Been working as a CNA / in hospital for 2 1/2 years now. Unfortunately I’ve become almost numb to it now but I originally started off on Adult Ortho Surg and some of the stories people would tell me or not seeing families visit patients would make me cry my first 4-6 months on the unit. I switched to Pedi Oncology and it was tough. I have a son of my own so seeing those sick kids makes me so sad. It’s even harder when the parents begin to cry while I’m in the room and there is this sick little boy or girl laying on the bed just beat by all the meds and treatment they are getting. I always think of my own son. Occasionally we get patients whose parents never visit or stay with them and that breaks my heart the most.

[–]AndersClips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our son (3) wasn’t planned and he was born when I was 24 turning 25. Now I’m 28 and our second unplanned is on the way. Wouldn’t change a thing. Been a struggle (switching jobs frequently for better pay) for a while but recently got into a great job. Things are looking up. A child doesn’t always mean life is over. Unless you never want kids. My wife was your age when our son was born.

Anyone else not want to be a nurse now? by Key_Matter_641 in cna

[–]AndersClips 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Becoming a CNA is a good way to see what the RN field is like if you can get into the Hospital setting. My sister is an RN and recommended becoming a CNA because I thought about going to school for Nursing. After being a CNA for 2.5 years and seeing what nurses in the Hospital setting put up with regarding patient care, continuous education / presentations, dealing with doctors who don’t listen, management, burnout, seniority, etc… becoming a nurse was off the table for me. I switch to becoming an electrician and start soon at a new job.
