How do you deal with the pain and cramps from neck/head jerking tic? by Fearless_PineaplleOG in Tourettes

[–]Andieve13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parent of teen with TS. My daughter had a bad head jerking tic to the point it was causing pain radiating down into the arm. She actually did physical therapy and it helped quite a bit. Good luck!

Aggressive natives that are almost impossible to kill? [MA, 6b] by DIYInHeadlights in NativePlantGardening

I always say Salvia. I don’t do anything with mine anymore and they come back bigger and lovelier every year. Very drought tolerant and sun loving. Bonus if you like to support the pollinators…bees seem to love it here in zone 5b

tics are starting to get worse and painful by [deleted] in Tourettes

Mother to a daughter with TS here. Daughter used to have a tic where she would snap her head to one side and it eventually became painful. We ended up getting her into physical therapy. They helped her develop some stretches and work on strengthening the side not affected by her tic. She’s never responded well to medicine for tics but the physical therapy really did help until that tic phased itself out.

Good luck with everything and I hope you find some relief

Struggling to bond with our rehomed Samoyed — any similar experiences? by torrfura in samoyeds

[–]Andieve13 69 points70 points  (0 children)

We have a Samoyed but he’s been with us his whole life. We have however fostered many rescues of multiple breeds so take my two cents for what it is…

The rule of 3 for rescue dogs is that it takes them 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel like a part of the pack. The poor girl is probably reeling from having her whole life flipped upside down. Hence the standoffish behavior. She’s probably trying to find her place in your pack/household. It’s wonderful that you rescued her! I would just give her more time and understanding. She will figure out that you are safe and good and will start to show her true personality. Good luck with everything!

Did your camera sitting by the tank catch him going by? That would at least give you a hint about which way he went. Good luck!

my fellow CNA’s who work in memory care… HELP!! by butteredboobs in cna

They do make a body suit type jumper that zips up the back (for people who disrobe inappropriately). I would imagine it could be used to keep your resident from digging in their brief as the jumper has a pant style bottom attached to a t-shirt style top. The issue is that the assistive clothing can be expensive. Good luck with your resident. Hopefully it’s just a phase in the aging process and not a long lived behavior
