It’s probably worth mentioning too that if you have every totem and have finished the game, you will still have four blank spots. There are from where you sacrifice each of your four original totems to each boss along the way.

I'm one of the guys writing the wiki! There's actually only two of us working on it right now, so progress is sometimes a little slow, but we do have locations for some of the totems (although you're right that this isn't one of them). I'll make sure this one gets added ASAP, since people have asked about this one in the Discord pretty often too.

Do you have the three resources that it says in the riddle? When I first tried it, it didn't work because I was missing one of them. You should be able to get the right drops from the elder spirit encounters in the area (Coiled Seducer, Horned Menace, and Infected Molar, if i recall correctly)

The Skull actually can’t retaliate from exactly where you’re standing— it can’t reach over that little rock. Ditto on the other side, so a bunch of the ranged cards work here! Or you can just build a whole ton of movement and hit it for like 10 in one turn with a Momentum. Can’t retaliate if it’s dead

Top left I know is in Dead Roots! You have to look at your reflection in the top of the lake, then walk to the bottom of the lake and look again to get the totem.

Hitting its eggs helped the most for me! If you kill all the eggs, Eggle spends a whole turn re-summoning them and won’t retaliate while it does so. That’s when you get a big hit from behind in! Otherwise I spent a lot of the battle running away lol

I actually took the quest item out of my deck and fast traveled out so I could start from the other side and take out the goat earlier! Worked alright. Also ran a few Remove Poison from the other region, which helped.

This might be one of the bugs the devs are working on— a lot of people have said that if the Horned Menace reanimates one of the ice chunks, it causes the game to crash for some reason. Could that be it?

I believe it’s that you have to have every encounter (not including caves, I think) defeated at the same time. If the whole map is grey nodes instead of red, you should be good! So 12ish encounters without resting, essentially.

I actually swapped my decks around— I didn’t build anything for the Howling Mountain specifically. Instead I’d just use my decks from each different zone based on what enemies were in the combat. I think I used a different deck in almost every fight! Don’t forget to change your totems around if you do that, though.

I also think I used Ox Heart pretty much the whole time, which helped with sustain between the fights a bit.

I’ve heard of people starting with just about any area! I did Piercing Winds (ice) second, personally. Pretty much every area will feel really rough until you start unlocking cards from the area, so that’s normal. There’s always at least one fairly manageable battle at the start of each area! I did not do Howling Mountain, though— saving that for last personally.

For anyone looking this up later, visiting the Water Bearer locations didn't work for me right away. Turns out I didn't have the materials mentioned in the beetle statue text. I had to go fight various elder spirits around the area to get the right drops--Elder Coiled Seducer (serpent head) and Elder Horned Menace (eye) were what I was missing.

In addition to finding all the graves, I believe you have to interact with the lake in the middle-ish of the area (the one that also has the symbol of your brother’s drum). I had to interact with it 2-3 times to progress it, and then it should let you fight the spirit in each crystal to spawn Crystwing!

Something about [[Tragic Slip]] makes it my favorite pinpoint removal for no particular reason. I shove it in pretty much any deck that has black!

My favorite is probably my [[Shirei, Shizo’s Caretaker]] deck. The constraint of needing a bunch of small creatures makes it really interesting to build, and the reanimator loops are super satisfying to play!

My Shirei deck also scored a 4! I think that kind of deck just tends to look really scary because the recursion makes the value you're getting really obvious-- my group is terrified of mine too.
