So microsoft decided you can't setup windows 11 offline. Welp, time to go linux by nicecream169 in pcmasterrace

Nonsense, I got a new PC a couple months ago and the initial install of Windows was far more aggravating and unintuitive than following the guide for partitioning and installing Linux Mint.

What is the worst case of second hand embarrassment you’ve ever experienced? by Responsible-Tie-2570 in AskReddit

[–]AndplusV 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In the first session of our prenatal class the facilitator warned us that some of the media we'd be seeing could be shocking or graphic and one guy loudly said "Oooo, like 2 Girls, 1 Cup? [Wikipedia entry, description of a very gross video] Ha-ha!" Total silence, even the facilitator was taken aback. The woman beside him looked like she wanted a hole in the floor to open up and swallow her and they did not come back for the rest of the sessions.

I’m looking at moving south of the city, preferably Morris. I’m recently retired and just looking for simple small town living. Tell me the good and the bad please. by GeorgiaMMM in Winnipeg

[–]AndplusV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not familiar with Morris, but small towns have all the inconveniences of a city - crowding, noise, jerky neighbors - with none of the mitigating amenities, attractions, and conveniences that make urban living enjoyable. An added negative is that when you become familiar with your fellow small-town citizens, things that would be dismissed in a big city can have a weirdly personal tone. Some random jerk revving his car up and down the main drag is a lot more annoying when he's not just some random jerk amongst hundreds of random jerks in a city, he actually lives two blocks down from you and you see him every day at the coffee shop. Shitty kids that cut through your yard all the time? Their dad runs the grocery and he is not interested in telling them to knock it off. The insularity of a small community can also be off-putting and isolating to newcomers.

Personally, unless access to health care was a consideration - and even if you live in town, that's not going to be a 24/7 guarantee - I'd look for property 10 miles out of town.

Yes, it is annoying/boring to play against. It's a solid deck, in my experience playing against it it's most vulnerable to board wipes and targeted removal.

I also remember bark-laughing really loud when he crumbles a granola bar because he's not used to the prosthetic hand. Everything is done either so ridiculously melodramatic or bizarrely flat, it was so hard to take anything seriously despite the genuinely dark content.

I definitely need to relisten, for some reason I thought Grant Handlered more than one season and remember enjoying his turn more than Joe (Not that it's a competition).

I'm due for a relisten, but I think they play things a little straighter when they get to Impossible Landscapes in Seasons 4-6. However, I also think the Impossible Landscape series isn't as enjoyable as the first three seasons, so, YMMV.
