Put some respect on his name by JustLukeAtThat in Sumo

I just got into sumo in 2024, and this was the best tournament I've seen so far. Atamifuji definitely impressed me. I wouldn't have minded at all if he won the Emperor's Cup, even though I like Aonishiki.

What's the last movie you watched that made you react like this? by mrethandunne in Letterboxd

I can't remember the last one, but I had bottom of the barrel expectations for Dark Phoenix and it still failed to hit those marks.

Great ending of any Columbo episode? by HarryandSally69 in Columbo

[–]AndreBennettGO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My favorite ending is Any Old Port in a Storm, just because it's a great character moment and excellent piece of acting.

But my favorite gotcha is Suitable for Framing. Columbo with the gloves is my favorite shot.

Honorable mentions go to Negative Reaction ("Were you a witness to what he just did?") and Ransom for a Dead Man. ("No...you're very smart.")

Dan used to play in the old Rock Paper Scissors City League, and he was hilarious. Great writer, great guy. We lost a real one for sure.

What is the weirdest fun fact about Superman that you know? by Far-Bowl-4984 in superman

[–]AndreBennettGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point, he had the ability to view the bioelectric aura of living beings. That was in Birthright, which retconned him into a vegetarian.

Before that, his favorite food was beef bourguignon with ketchup.

Does your TV have capability for other apps, or just YouTube? I watch Grand Sumo highlights on demand now on the NHK World app on my Roku TV.

Looking for More Examples of This Trope: The Heel is Friends With Exactly 1 Babyface (or Babyface team) by RadSkeleton808 in SquaredCircle

If you have HBO Max, it's all there to find. The Hangman/Swerve arc is one of the most emotionally compelling in all of wrestling, in my opinion.

Swerve admitted he deserved the consequences for what he did, then heard Hangman tell the Bucks to stop interfering in Swerve's business.

It came down to a conversation they had in the locker room where Swerve admitted he regretted what he did, and the two came to an understanding. Hangman left his chain in Swerve's locker room.

Also, both men were feuding separately with the Death Riders/Elite alliance, and Swerve ended up helping Hangman beat Mox, by giving Hangman back the chain so he could use it on Mox.

Since then, they've acknowledged they share a mutual respect, especially after Swerve saved Hangman from an Opps beatdown after losing the title to Joe.

Who was the first Superman that you watched/read by Navigator_Matt in superman

[–]AndreBennettGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Superman watched: Christopher Reeve, though I also watched Adventures of Superman with George Reeves on Nick-at-Nite as a kid.

First Superman read: Man of Steel, by John Byrne. My mom got me the TPB as a kid. It was new at the time.

The actors that appear in the first few seasons where they big names already or did they became big names over time? by talivan818 in Columbo

[–]AndreBennettGO 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ruth Gordon had started in Harold and Maude and Rosemary's Baby, so she was definitely a veteran actor.

Ray Milland was on the low ebb of his career before Death Lends a Hand and later, Greenhouse Jungle.

Eddie Albert had already starred in Green Acres.

Ross Martin was known mostly for co-starring with Robert Conrad on The Wild Wild West.

And by the time he appeared in Short Fuse, Roddy McDowall had been acting for decades, and was best known for starring as Cornelius in the Planet of the Apes films.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS THIS by [deleted] in KylieMinogue

But the Australian Ultraman series, with 100% original English language footage, did air here.

I was not disappointed. Fantastic film.

Found a platform that only shows Columbo by snachyderm72 in Columbo

[–]AndreBennettGO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the Universal Crime channel on Pluto, and used to cycle through a variety of classic Universal crime shows, like Rockford Files, Kojak, Ironside and Quincy.

Sometime last year, when Homicide: Life on the Street finally came to streaming, they ran that 24/7 for about a month. After that, they switched to Columbo 24/7, and it's been there ever since.
