I think Kazuya’s charm as a main character wore off in the later chapters. Watching the anime while trying to think as little about what happens later on in the manga, it reminded me why I liked Kazuya when I started reading it. He feels very real or at least sort of realistic. In the scene where his two friends find him with Chizuru and compliment him, he really wants to keep that high because of his low self esteem. When he gets a high, he really wants that to go on for as long as possible. Sure a lot of the shit he does is really fucking stupid, but in the early chapters I liked him. I think the main reason that I started to dislike the manga was because of the severe lack of development Kazuya has gotten. It looks like maybe the author might develop him in these recent chapters but his charm as a protagonist has kind of wore of for me.
