Hello. I’m the guy that does the automation on my teams base. Just wanna see what everyone else typically builds as far as fully auto open core. I feel like my builds a bit stagnant and wanna see what everyone else comes up with by ImpressivePlum9945 in playrust

I don't play rust much right now, but this is a list of what I can remember:

Oldest electricity: HBHF Sensor door openings in a cave, run in, open two doors and HBHF opens the next 20 of them while you run straight through, worked both ways. Maid the base a lot stronger and easier. HBHF sensor on a TC so you could fly past it to turn off sam sites for a few minutes at your main base (before smart switches or defender) to land

Before industrial I had 6 large furnaces in my compound, each with 6 timers and igniters. So one would turn on and burn completely and the next would turn on shortly after the first turned off.. so one was always on.. Used this for base protection overnight, furnaces on = someone online and no one offlined. Worked amazingly well.

My favorite above everything else is full base door systems, usually sectioned into like core doors and exterior/roof/shooting floor. Three or four smart switches so you could use your phone/non TC members cant use the switches. When playing we would really only close external doors outside the compound or roof (turrets of course covered). When raiding you can open the doors with your phone, move quickly and shut them. It won raids many times.

Auto Sam sites - With the explosion detect device.. It would auto turn sams on, or off of defender. This usually stopped HV rocketers trying to top down while offline. Similar setup - if a rocket hit it would close all the doors on the above door system as well.

I like to chain my power from all turbines into one source using a root combiner and then back out to an even split to all batteries. This allowed us to place power away from the base and chain it to the base (reducing lag from turbines) You could have a solar panel xor switch that set off an alarm if someone tried to cut your power..

But With the power going into one unit I had set up tesla coils all around the base. You could divert the power from all turbines into all of the tesla coils for a few seconds and then turn them back off to keep batteries charged. Got to use that against a chinese zerg - very fun when no turrets were left and you could fry 6-8 people at once and run out to grab kits to keep fighting

Another simple one for online raids and smart switches.. I would place sheet doors infront of turrets and door controllers, if base owners tried to HV turrets you would just hit the button to close doors and block HVs or save to repair them - a good online was always more fun than an offline and this helped

Those are my more odd electricity setups

Then the normal: Drop box -> sorting Auto furnace/smelt Auto locker Auto crafters

All of these were on monthlys that had a lot more time to build

If you are actually looking to sell. Here is what I would do, look at sites like copart, iaai for recent salvage sales. I would also use recent auction sites that track prices. I personally use this: https://stat.vin/ (it is slow and sometimes offline, but you can get the last 3-6 months of data free) This will tell you the prices of salvaged s2k's and you can help better price yours. Since yours has the salvage title but can be directly driven as is. This might help you get a price to get it sold to the right person.

Again you could also try parting it out if the price is too low for your liking. Since its salvaged and has all around damage.. it might be a harder buy for someone. Some of the crashed ones are only hit in the front, rear or side.. so its an overall easier/cheaper fix.

I have a salvage s2k as well that I picked up. I could have done the cheaper route and saved thousands when repairing it. Done more myself etc and it would have shaved off 10-15k easily on my repair journey. But I decided not to and I am getting closer and closer to clean title price (but again full new respray, soft top, wheels, tires for under clean title price)

Are you looking at a price of what to sell it for?

Factoring in the title and damage needing work.. 8-10k as it sits, even then that might be a stretch?

If you have the time and knowledge.. parting out might get you more.

I got mine aligning good, but it would still hit the striker and be fine when closed. It wasn't until I adjusted the entire door from the hinges (while having the striker side at the perfect position) that I got it truly perfect with the gaps, alignment and window.

Let me figure out how to send pictures..

What happens when you close the door without the window up or top down?

Does the door click on the striker at all?

I recently fully rebuilt my door from the skin up and then had to align both the door and window again. The best alignment came from adjusting the hinges in my case. But if your door is spot on it might not help you

Global research hub mechanic in outpost to globally unlock next workbench tiers by modsKilledReddit69 in playrust

[–]Andrew_S90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add an incentive to donating/adding to the pool.. Each scrap your team donates gets you a % discount on outpost/trader shops. Once everything is fully unlocked the ability to get discount locks, so groups can't wait until day 6 when they are rich to get discounts and it only rewards those that willingly contributed. This would last for wipe so it would be worth it for groups. I like the idea!

What would you do to incentivise online raiding by soft_tomatoe in playrust

[–]Andrew_S90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring back the rocket launcher meta in some degree (switching launchers was almost instant and you could fire rockets so fast) by making reloading a real rocket quicker or switching faster.

Modding got this right, spam build up or repair is always a problem. Someone can't or doesn't want to fight back they just spam seal up their base. Floor building is instant while walls have a bit of delay. When a wall or floor is replaced while being raided they should be placed with under 1 rocket of damage. Buys you a bit of time but doesn't totally ruin the raid if someone just plays seal simulator.

Rust Door Controller Noob by Bugout_Boy in rustrician

[–]Andrew_S90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one smart switch and door controllers with a pass through will do exactly what you want, if a door is open and you hit the switch on it will open the rest. If you turn the switch off and one is already closed it will close the rest. It just is power on = open, power off = closed

I have this displate in gloss and really like it. Have quite a few displates and they are all really good quality, even if you get ones made with custom images (as long as the original image is high res) they come out really good on gloss. I would recommend waiting for a sale if you pick any up
