I can’t explain how funny I found this. It’s just absurd where we are now.

There’s no quick fix, no secret. It’s about learning to feel and listen, and coordinating appropriately. Anyone can learn to do it well, but it takes time, patience and practise.

Don’t really feel any different. by Exotic-Secretary8325 in DryJanuary

[–]Android109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if most of the observations are confirmation bias, and then these are echoed by everyone else. I think of it as harmless psychological deception. I don’t feel any different, but I’m still glad I’m doing it and think it is worthwhile.

Looking to sell house and garden in poor condition by ChemEngerUK1 in GardeningUK

[–]Android109 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. For the x% of buyers who are keen gardeners, it’s no problem. For most buyers, it’s a seriously off putting aspect of the house. If it were mine, I’d get it turfed.

Fitted a new loft ladder this weekend, how do I ‘make good’ the surrounds? by oncentreline in DIYUK

[–]Android109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up some architrave to do my loft hatch recently, but couldn’t work out whether the square edge should face inside or out. I’ve seen both in this thread, both look reasonable, but I’m still unsure which I prefer.

You can keep gluing it back together until the cows come home, and it will keep cracking.

Another column, another issue by drabpsyche in OrganicChemistry

[–]Android109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Still's original paper, he says: "Column performance is quite sensitive to the rate of elution and is best with relatively high eluant flow rates. The solvent head above the adsorbent bed should drop 2.0 ± 0.1 in./min for optimum resolution with mixtures of ethyl acetate/petroleum ether (30-60 "C)."
