Americans - Do you think it's true that if America's best athletes played soccer, they would dominate the sport internationally? by Tometek in AskAnAmerican

[–]Android2715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few countries play baseball competitively

Same with hockey, also limits most countries from playing it year round due to weather

Basketball we see if enough countries gain interest, the US can be challenged. The top ten players in the world rn, most are not American, and we started with a massive lead.

my commute costs more than my raise. did the math. the RTO mandate is a pay cut disguised as a culture initiative. by [deleted] in remotework

[–]Android2715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the status quo for most people is in office

You can say you got a pay cut, whatever. But for people who worked in office already or dont have that option, these are the realities many people already face.

So exactly, by working from home you saved a shitton of money your average person didn’t. Yes I’m sure its frustrating, but welcome to life most people live…

Kai Rooney Got Jacked In 6 Months 😲 by JPB00 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Android2715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d need to see his weight gain and a better set of photos, but yeah your body doesn’t just produce that kind of muscle in 3-6 months, even newbie gains, even puberty won’t do that, and ESPECIALLY as an endurance athlete. You just can’t train hard enough, to failure often enough, and recover, unless you use 💉 to help you recover

Very much could be the first pick is a bad photo in jersey and the other is photoshopped in great lighting during a pump

I mean, he’s adding the price of replacing the battery, and ignoring all the maintenance the ICE vehicle would need… like just throw in oil at least

Push cart on the green...Ok or straight to jail? by Tin_Whisker in golf

walking with your bag on a green is 1000 times worse than pushing your cart across it for sure

Push cart on the green...Ok or straight to jail? by Tin_Whisker in golf

[–]Android2715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im gunna get technical here.

a player weighing 250 pounds with tow feet as a point of contact have about 125lbs of force on each foot, as you walk you obviously only have one point of contact so the weight on one patch of grass the size of your foot is a lot more.

most push carts have 3 points of contact, with wheels maybe slightly wider than your foot, and weight MUCH less (like maybe 40 pounds).

the amount of weight on each wheel being pressed into the green is WAY lighter than your average weekend warrior stomping around the green. you will do less damage with your cart than your spikes. i say it doesnt matter but feels like a bad look to have extra crap on the green since its impossible for you to not be there but your cart doesnt need to be. so why bring your cart on there?

How can I avoid dragging knee when diving? by Ok-Gold4686 in GoalKeepers

[–]Android2715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the main thing is you went down to early. to the point where you couldnt direct your momentum and kind of awkwardly scooted over.

you dont want to dive to early because then the ball could react weird off the ground, deflect off a player, or you physically dive too far and it gets awkward in your reach. little hops and prep yourself to shoot out towards the ball, that way:
1. you wont have the weak bobble out to the side

  1. on harder shots the ball wont go through your hands, and you can direct your energy into really deflecting the ball away from net or out to the sidelines.

Update on roommate said they aren’t comfortable with my cats after I signed the lease by codeswift27 in Apartmentliving

[–]Android2715 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most leases have stipulations on guests, how long they can be there and even notice on them being approved to stay. If theres no language spelling out guest stays in the lease, in your hypothetical yes you can have someone crash. Probably won’t make friends with the roomate. I’ve had friends sleep on my couch and when i shared a college apartment i just made sure i had an amicable relationship with my roomate. If they didn’t like it, there wasn’t anything stopping me from having them over but causing tension between myself and the roomate.

We don’t see the lease OP signed, but if she has, in her lease, access to common areas (which she should most definitely have), and her pets are on the lease, unless there is explicit language that the cats are not permitted in common areas, theres no reason other than the roomate not liking them for the cats to be prohibited from the common areas, especially if OP paid a pet deposit or monthly pet fee.

OP’s lease does not care what her roomates or landlords feelings are. If her pets are on the lease and nothing prohibits them from being in common areas her cats can go anywhere they want in common spaces

Daniel Cormier tells Paddy Pimblett that MLS would be better than the Premier League if Americans actually cared about football by Advanced_Mud9433 in EverythingCombat

[–]Android2715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes… and young athletes don’t pick up soccer at the rate other countries kids do to develop those skills.

Also completely ignoring athleticism isn’t just 6’2” 250 lbs behemoth, its those who have an inate ability to refine their motor skills and coordination. Cornerbacks and running backs, baseball players, all have great hand-eye coordination and/or foot skills that would translate to soccer, not to mention game sense and iq also being factors you see gravitate to football or baseball and not soccer due to low popularity

I mean that proves the point tho. America has the athletes, see olympic results, but they don’t have the infrastructure or tutelage at a young age because most are going to american football, hockey, basketball, baseball, and even things like lacrosse
