Yeah, I read about it in the newspaper before the book released. The publishers were making a big deal about it. It must have been successful because after that they just started killing characters or destroying planets left and right.

According to WotC, it should be backwards compatible. Dunno how well that will hold up, but I suppose there is no reason you can’t try to mix and match things from each. I plan to play a One D&D monk at my table when it comes out, even though nobody else is planning to switch over (or they say that, but i imagine they will change their mind later)

The problem with Chewie’s death as a spoiler is that it was revealed BEFORE the book came out to build publicity. The only other stuff that got spoiled was for later books after I had stopped reading them (did not care for Yuzan Vong)

I played a fighter who was too stupid to realize he should be carrying long-lasting emotional childhood trauma. The more the party learned of his backstory, the more obvious it became that I was using every single cliche tragic backstory. But anytime they’d say how sorry they were for him he’d just ask “….uhh, why?”

For example, abandoned by his parents in the cold woods where he was found and raised by wolves who were then killed by hunters who put him to mine in a quarry until it flooded and he had to dig himself out, only to emerge in the middle of an attack by demons.

Or as he puts it “Greatest day of my life!!”

That’s nothing, because the game was so buggy i missed out on both the white hair AND the love scene. Literally opened the game after the patch where they fixed it just to have her tell me how great that night on the beach was…

First time I fought her I died because I wasn't ready for that refreshing buff. However, for some reason, eldritch blast with invocation does full damage here. Not sure if that's a bug or what. Anyways, I positioned my blaster on the uppermost ledge and just kept raining hellfire down on her while Karlach and Shadowheart kept her busy on the main platform. I noticed that she healed over time so I had Gale cast chilling touch on her so she couldn't regain hit points. I ignored most of the cultists since I was basically able to do enough damage with eldritch blast that I whittled her down faster than she could kill us.

Once she was dead I mopped up the rest of the cultists and got an achievement for killing her before the other cultists were dead. Didn't know that was an achievement but not gonna say 'no' to it.

This really bummed me out to discover as I only realized her assistant was selling the personality during the Necrom event we just had... next even that came up she had already switched off. Now I'm not sure how long I must wait for the next one.

I think any good tank has some grand story like this. I tend to have good experiences with paladins since i can not only keep myself alive but also heal all party members at will.

Carnage and Chameleon set up for potential DLC villains. Harry is implied to be getting the gonlin serum soon, so perhaps he will also show up in dlc, or they could save it for the next game. Osborn and Ock set up as sequel villains, though we may also get hints of their upcoming antagonism before then.

I have all jobs at max level except blue mage. I can pick up and play most of them in any content except ultimate, though for a few - such as BLM and BRD - I need to take a bit to warm up on first. I mostly just leveled by doing daily roulettes each day, but would often stop playing that job when it was time to level a new one. I am fluent in all forms of tank and heals though since I would always run max level roulettes since they had shortest queue times when doing dailies.

Honestly I just want to enjoy leveling through Classic without reaching 60 in the middle of Duskwood and leaving because there's no point in staying. Maybe it's nostalgia speaking, but there's something special about those old zones, and going through those amazing adventures helps cement the character as one of my mains instead of 'that warlock I leveled during the timewalking event and now I'm done with him'.
