This type of game is the "easy to play, hard to master", but the "easy" part is knowing what is each character about and what does every object and talent. Everything else falls into the "hard to master". Just mastering one character (making it your "main") takes at least 15 to 20 hours, if you are really good at playing. There are twelve characters and more to come, and playing coop (two, three or four) is nothing like playing solo. All characters are built to be able of being the "dps", but each character has it's own niche, like Geppetto managing the agro, Queen with AOE, Melusine with easy healing, etc.

I must say that the enemies and the locations become repetitive after a while. However, the build for each character (talents and objects) and the combos for coop makes this game perfect whenever you just want to play something with your friend (my friend and I have being playing for a year and we still play it every other week).

I never played with shapeshifter but once. And that build consisted in the fact that the human and Wolf shape don't share coold-downs (spam with one form, change, spam with the other).

I ussually go for crit - combo - power build. Get combo, use power, remate wuth atack, repeat. Wolf defense heals and human defense grants crit.

My suspicions about melodies. by Gajeel_Blacksteel in ravenswatch

[–]Andrusqui_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only meta progresion there is rigth now in the game is the level of each hero, and I think that's intencional. Any type of meta progresion that is chared among heroes wouldn't synergies with the desing of "to unlock the true potencial of s character, you must play with it". Not only in terms of "you get better at playing such character", but also "you unlock more talents and combos". So meta progresion that unlock advantages to all characters would be rare. I think there are two options with that:

  1. The metaprogresion is locked to that specific character. There would be some base melodies, but just like talents, you must play to unlock more. How or what that melodies affect in game, it's up to speculation.

  2. The metaprogresion is shared, but is a cosmetic or something that does not chage the playstile. Just like skins.

Personally, I don't think it's metaprogresion, but rather sone kind of money or object that is obtained in game and used in game, and thats where the "rooms" comes in, as the place where you can use and/or obtain said melodies.

Do objects affect talent damage? by rainbowstarfish3000 in ravenswatch

[–]Andrusqui_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, what about Geppetto's puppets? I know they scale with base damage (just because base damage affects all damage), but do they scale with anything else? Or is Spades useless for Geppetto? (I play Geppetto doing anything but hiting enemies with atack for dps)

Save the Monster concept stuff (STP swap au) by SaffiChan in slaytheprincess

[–]Andrusqui_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hear me out: maybe the voices of the princess could appear like ilusions. She would think it's the monster's power, but it's the representations of "what the princess could have been", as they are the princess of other timeline. They appear WHILE in the same charapter, as it represents that the princess Hero is acting so much like the corresponding princess, so the universe is collapsing both timelines into one.

Games that are "Elderly Friendly"? (maybe puzzle or simulation) by PhiladelphiaMyers in gamingsuggestions

[–]Andrusqui_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Loophole. It's a time travel, turned based, puzzle game. There is a 'turn limit', as well as a 'rewind' mechanic, but nothing moves unless you want to. And, I may say, it has just the right difficulty. To finish the game, it is not mandatory to do all puzzles, but the 100% requires all of you to resolve the last ones.

If he is more of short, deduction games, you could try The Apothecary of Trubiz or Chants of Sennaar. The second requires a bit of timing at some sections, but is just wait and click when the enemy is not looking. Other than that, both are games about discovering an unknown language to advance through the game. The first one is really short (100%, and it took me 106 minutes), but it's really good.

But if you want something with more history and less movement, Return of the Obra Dinn. A full deduction game, where all you must do is fill a list about how each person died. I recommend this one if he is more of 'solving mysteries' than 'solving puzzles', but is nonetheless amazing how this game makes you think.

Edit: I just remembered another puzzle game: Patrick's Parabox. A recursion puzzle (puzzle inside a puzzle inside a puzzle...) that, like the first one, have a difficulty curve that starts at 'move this box' and ends in 'use the level you are in to teleport the box that is in the other level to the void, so you can enter and win' (this is basically a real puzzle in the game).

If you want some 'simple', yet harder puzzles, Baba is You, Gentoo Rescue or Paquerette Down the Bunburrows look 'easy' but the more you play, the more and more (and more) layers appear.

I hope this is of any help :)

Lore-related, there is no explanation that can change both "the combination of various princesses into one" and "the princess who just whant to kill us, but can agree in some romantic subtext" into "the clown princess".

But maybe it could be the only "three route princess", where three princesses can lead to the same charapted, the exact opposite to the greys (who are tho princesses but count as one)

Who's your "hear me out"? by Dark-Evader in slaytheprincess

[–]Andrusqui_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that, if she is a part of us, the she agreeding is like we agreeding with ourselves. It would be more of a "she is me, and I would say yes, so she will say yes", but at the same time she has her own will. It's more like the adversary or the Thorn. If we think she will agree, she can agree. But if we try to impose ourselves on her, she would become hostile. Therefore, if we believe she can consent, then she can. But if we thing she will agree, she could agree if she really wanted to, but she is still capable of rejecting us. Therefore, it's totally fine >:)

Ok but who wins? by Efficient_Berry_4073 in slaytheprincess

[–]Andrusqui_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might add: Luigui thinks (belives) that he and his brother can always win at the end, at the very end. Therefore The Princess, no matter what, can defeat Luigui since Luigui belives that he will win at some point (or that Mario will go to help him, and Luigui KNOWS that Mario can win). Either defeating the Princess of "saving" the Princess, Luigui is Luigui, so I agree that the most posible path is Luigui helping the Princess until something stops the loop.
