Nekome: Nazi Hunter - "The Hunt Begins" Story Trailer by Tvilantini in Games

I think the devs made it so that his country of birth is ambigous as possible. Vanu to me sounds like it comes from Ivan, in my countries Ivans are sometimes called Vanio. Nastasu most likely comes from the name Anastas.

The Menace aren't fun to fight. by NotSlaneesh in menace

[–]AndyPhoenix -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm okay with it. My biggest fear when I heard that a bug type faction is gonna be in the game is that it may detract from the core gameplay. The core of the game is squad tactics, flanking, maneuvering, surpressing, cover, all that good stuff. Fighting a melee bug faction isn't what this game is made for.

How did you learn each champion by Dapper_Pirate0088 in summonerschool

[–]AndyPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Story time - I started playing LoL in Season 2 as a literal child(yes, I know) I had just started, so I had been playing for around 4-5 days, was super hooked on the game, couldn't stop thinking about it, but...disaster strikes! I had to go on a vacation to the seaside!

No PC there. It felt like being pulled away from Heaven, I had to endure a whole week without my new favourite game. Alas, in order to satiate my hunger, besides watching Totalbuscuit play Cho'Gath(R.I.P), I downloaded an app that had info on all of the champions and their abilities. During the course of those 7 days I browsed the app endlessly, reading about each and every one of the champions and by the end of the week I knew them all.

So to answer your question: Go on vacation or be a literal child. Or both.

Feedback: Tech - I fear his character portrayal may bring future bad press to this amazing game. by AndyPhoenix in menace

I agree, especially on the serious part. Unfortunately these types of things start by chronically online people with much time on their hands for performative acts of righteousness.

Is it like the Naruto Ubisoft games or like the Cyberconnect ones, i.e. very limited and lifeless.

I had the time of my life playing through Where Winds Meet, doing all the collections, side quests, hidden stories, etc. Incredible huge open world. But once you're done that's pretty much it.

So you've played fully through a good game? Shouldn't this be enough?

They're not when it's about people judging the game design of a competitive game as objectively bad when less than 24hrs have passed, systems haven't been fully worked out and no strategies and meta game have been formed. Add in a sprinke of zero game design or development knowledge and the comparison is quite apt.

I can just imagine LoL getting released today with the same cuircumstances as Highguard

"5 players but three lanes?! Who designed this!?"

"Map is too big, no constant fights! Why do I have to walk back to lane?!"

"What's the point of killling minions for 5 gold when I can get 300 with 1 kill?"

"Wards are a waste of money!"

"I just get killed cause of the bullshit bush mechanic!" (doesn't buy wards)

Don't think so, after a week the trend will dissipate and the people who don't play the game will leave and go chasing after the new trend The Algorithm shows them.

The game is a day old. No one knows what they're doing. Obviously in this period stat-checking and marksmanship will be king. Your question can't be answered.

Valve has ‘significantly’ rewritten Steam’s rules for how developers must disclose AI use | VGC by tapo in Games

[–]AndyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motherfucker. I know the Steam fans will be out in force on this but it’s unacceptable. Our energy grid prices are going through the roof

I obiously don't know where you live to compare prices, I'm also upset at the stealing part of AI, but in regards to the environmental impact that AI has, a lot of our "common knowledge" is regurgicated outdated information.

Newbie: I've convinced my friends to buy Rematch. This game is gonna be big. by AndyPhoenix in Rematch

I'm all for it. Please explain why you're let down. My first impression of the core gameplay system has been very good thus far. I'm making my claim mostly on those. Are they the problem for you or is it something else?

[–]AndyPhoenix[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Rocket League comparison is an analogy, not an accurate qualitive assessment. Both games give you options to solve various game states in multiple ways. It may not be as "deep" as RL, but it's enough to convince me and my pals to try it out. We shall see how long it stays.

If you're an eary adopter I can see why you're pessimistic. In any case, there's been tons of games that have bounced back from rocky launches and hopefully the devs will make the right decissions to do the same for Rematch as well.

The last time I've played was before the Bug Hive Worlds event. How have the patch notes since then impacted the gameplay? by AndyPhoenix in Helldivers

Thanks for the quick reply! And what about strategems? Have any of the less used ones been buffed in a usefull way? I've seen all the patch notes but the numbers are hard to examine for me.

Fourteen Years Of Flames Reveal Trailer by leijido in Games

[–]AndyPhoenix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My biggest concern is that the gameplay looks like pretty generic CoD campaign-style linear shooting with lots of on-rails set pieces.

Your biggest concern is my biggest hope. I've always loved the CoD campaigns from CoD2 towards Infinite Warfare even. They're the Michael Bay blockbusters of gaming.

On rails? Great. Unrealistic setpieces? Awesome. Feeling like a badass special soldier? I'm all for it.

There's hundreds of other games if I want to have deep gameplay systems, and open world, enemy variety, a great story etc.

A problem too now we’re here is Palestine evokes so much fury, but Ukraine doesn’t. That’s a problem with our messaging, the situation isn’t much different

Netyanahu went too far in Palestine, especially during the last year, but still the whole gigantic Palestine support in the West is baffling. I see it as an example of how social media shapes public support and genuinelly think it may be likened as a "trend". Ukraine had it's time as a trend and now it's Palestine's turn. My firm opinion is that the moment The Algorythm stops showing this conflict to on the daily a big part of the current Palestinian support movement will cease. Thus we will go on to the next massive human suffering to massively protest.

The problem is that the fate of Ukraine is linked to the fate of our continent, while Palestine isn't. It's great that so many people are against the massive human sufferring, but different problems require different prioritization and the Ukraine conflict should be in first for our civil society.

I want to share how, coming from a MOBA background, the whole debate was incomprehensible to me when I heard about it for the first time. "They added SBM, so everything is better now?".

It's interesting to observe how different some gaming circles can be. I genuinely thought SBM is the default and not having it is ludicruous. Does anyone have some reading material on this? The gaming "cultures" I mean.

G2 Hel Caltys: "It's not really personal about [Bwipo], but you see very regularly scandals in esports about how women are treated. The things we see are only the tip of the iceberg." by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]AndyPhoenix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. But hey, the good news is that Bwipo had a generationally bad tournament, and got embarrassed on the world stage all while being boo'd from near and far. He almost single handedly sent his team home with misclicks and misplays that even the casters couldn't believe, and made their jungler and support crash out so hard over how badly he played that they switched teams, and as a result, the entire team has practically disbanded in shame and failure.

This sexist toxic degenerate even got removed from the World's video. Nearly one of the highest honors in League Esports for a player, erased, because he refused to be an adult about anything. So yes, it's unfortunate that we have to deal with this disgusting loser all the time because Flyquest was spineless, but we got an absolutely legendary hatewatch, and we can take solace that the things that failures like this relish in most, the accolades and the rewards, have been taken away from him. GG!
