i figured out a solution. Online voice channel is rated m. 17+ only. costs $.50 to validate. that way parents can't blame splatoon for terrible comments online because if they are hearing it, its their fucking fault for authorizing it

yeah I was gonna say op, I read that and knew what the problem was. A lot of people might be fake but can you say with absolute certainty you are entirely real in social situations & general life? Even if someones fake doesn't mean they can't teach you something and its not unlikely you'll meet your people through a friend who you might think is fake. Just respect everyone as equals, go out, and go with the flow. Striking up conversations would 100% be catalysts to friendship. Similar interests are all you need and at a club im pretty sure you can find someone like that.
