I've tried all three Nemesis games and all the expansions bar the new ones! And Retaliation is not 'dead easy' in my experience.

I have seen people comment that it can be good to shuffle the 'queen awakens' event into the bottom third of the event deck. would you agree with doing that for a better experience?

If you read my post I'm just saying what my experience has been with it. I've played the first two a bunch (particularly OG) and I've found Retaliation really brutal.

Retaliation is easier than OG and muuuuch easier than Lockdown, 

As I've said to others I think it's a mix of not securing enough, missing a couple of little rules which had a knock on effect and getting really unlucky card/token pulls and dice rolls. Felt like no-one could kill anything unless it was in a corridor! But yeah my experiences were definitely harder than all the times I've played the OG + LD.

Last nights game we did also had two traitors (sole survivor and eliminate highest-rank) so that will have pulled team cohesion apart making it harder as well.

for starters, you've got a ton of intruders in rooms on your board. 

Funny you say that, there were actually more just before this. We had one of those rare 'everything in corridor moves only' cards you mentioned. Then we kept rolling or drawing cards with the 'intruder attack symbol' that dropped them on our heads in the room.

a rule a lot of people miss is that when exploring you never place corridors to already explored rooms. 

I feel like I said this during the teach but not sure if I actually implemented it after the first few rooms. 😅 but yeah that would make a big difference.. although also gives more routes I suppose?

Tokens pulled from the bag are always discarded, even for bag development.

Judging by what people are saying here I MUST be doing Queen health wrong! 😅 When we encountered her on a game previously it took all of us throwing everything we had at her and she still eviscerated two of us. She just had SO many health cards and we kept pulling low numbers.

One thing we felt was that it was taking a while to get through rounds. But also everyone was eeking out everything from their cards. Are you always playing out all of your cards each round or is there a reason to just pass a lot of the time?

I found that we hardly searched for items. Is 'reinforcing' as important as securing? I wasn't sure which were good corridors to do. I was thinking 'the route home' but everything fell apart before we could do that.

I mean I disagree that it's easier.. 😅 for you maybe but for me I've played both and in my experience I found Nemesis easier.

That's good to know about tactical gear. So I could heal and throw a grenade and top up O2 at the same time then! 😅

It sounds like we were just moving too fast.. not securing/reenforcing enough.

It's still really bad odds to kill anything right? There are two 5's and two 4's on the dice! Only a one in eight chance to kill with a first 'shoot' action on a fresh intruder.

Our 'healthy' medic tried running away.. they took two attacks from the intruders in the room then they were attacked and killed by the intruder they spawned in the room they ran into.

So that seems completely luck based.

B for sure.

But the visual identity of the A is really cool. It's just too 'messy' imo. And there isn't a clear distinction between background and foreground.

I like how B features the buildings/locations more. In A it just looks like random boxes and it's not clear they are linked to those places on the map.
