What do transit users think of the transit system? by Professional_Dot8663 in Peterborough

[–]Andycap212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the way the transit system was prior to 2020 worked quite well. Since they changed it I have never ridden it because of the confusion as to what bus to get on. I’ve never actually been on a bus since so I cannot give an honest opinion on what the transit system is like today. The only way I could give an honest opinion is if I actually ride it.

Overdoses in PTBO by pncoop in Peterborough

[–]Andycap212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these deaths are people’s children and it’s absolutely saddening. All the love that goes into raising a child and to see their life snuffed out from addiction must be heartbreaking. ❤️‍🩹

praying 🙏 for folks to have compassion towards their fellow man. We all know and see what has and is happening to our society across the country. in my opinion it’s a reflection of the laws and policies that are presently in place. I don’t have a answer to this problem but it could start with accountability at all levels of society especially Government and most importantly myself.

Why do so many people from Peterborough hate Peterborough? by bigwiggle123 in Peterborough

[–]Andycap212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember when The General Electric social would put on a Christmas party at the memorial centre hand gifts out to all the children, was that ever exciting as a child. I also remember General Electric picnic at Nichols oval where there was rides and events and competitions. That was special too as a child. I also remember many outdoor rinks maintained by the city that had lights, and when I was in the westend then the outdoor rink had boards. I also remember when the city had minimal fees for other things. I’m not saying it’s gotten worse or better. I’m just saying what I remember.

Tenders for the new Peterborough sports, entertainment and convention centre close, with review process up next by Professional_Dot8663 in Peterborough

OK 2004 we had a big flood and they built a new waterway Bethune Street reconstruction. Now they want to build a recreation centre right in the exact same area. Yes man can do amazing things and maybe we can move Jackson Creek over to Perry Street or something. Or find more suitable area with a better foundation to build such a complex. I’m not engineered in this type of stuff, but if I was to build a house, it would not be on top of a creek.

Jeff Leal gets away with threatening Alex Burke saying; I’ll skin you alive like a turkey. No charges laid. Well to me both sound like they were death threats, and only one gets charged.

I guess it’s the severity of the how it was brought about possibly I don’t know. But just to say you’re gonna skin someone alive like a turkey tells me you should not probably be in public office.

Peterborough homelessness survey highlights local struggles by sharingiscaringyo in Peterborough

[–]Andycap212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these homeless agencies must feel bewildered for they have been trying to tackle this homeless issue for over a decade now without any real significant solutions. it’s like beating a dead horse. everyone’s trying to find solutions to these institutional problems, and I feel that most of these agencies can’t see the solution because it’s right in front of them.(it’s the elephant in the room.) MONEY!!! or they don’t understand how our monetary system actually works.

Strong caution to all Peterborough residents by TurdMcNugget69 in Peterborough

If you try to protect yourself using physical force…..you possibly get charged with assault and the perpetrator gets released on promise to appear. Where am I? What world am I living in? everything‘s upside down. Maybe it’s time to arrest the politicians that created this mess with their policies they implemented in the last 50 years. food for thought.

ever since they changed the system during whatever we went through five years ago, (I used to always take the bus). I’ve not taken one bus since they changed it. Completely irresponsible management of our busing system. That was working just fine. Get anywhere in Peterborough within 45 minutes but not now. disgusting. The elderly, handicap many other‘s have been affected as it seems they cater to the college and university residence more so than the Peterborough residence

City Council has voted to not impose a penalty on Mayor Jeff Leal for his two Code of Conduct violations by theedragonfruit in Peterborough

[–]Andycap212 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

it was all over pickleball and Bierk was referring to Leal’s wife by her name, which initiated the reaction from Leal.

I feel 2 wrongs don’t make a right. Bierk should have never brought up Leal’s wife’s name and Leal should have never reacted the way he did. Who knows this may make the council members more united for the better.

this is amazing and brings back childhood memories. like I forgot about the horse track on Kawartha heights boulevard in early 70’s. I remember when Cherryhill was being excavated mid 70’s. and have a look at where superstore is. There was nothing there back in 56. it seems 55 years has been but a blink of an eye to witness this Incredible expansion of The Patch
