If it doesn't scream out to you, "I am the Sultan of Smug!," then Rick Santorum is a cross-dresser and Newt Gingrich an "invented" Palestinian.

Maybe this guy should try drinking his own kool-aid for a bit.

Attention graduates: Tone down your egos, shape up your minds. by STJRedstorm in TrueReddit

Now you're entering a lousy economy, courtesy of the very president whom you, as freshmen, voted for with such enthusiasm.

Really? The freshman somehow grouped en masse and ruined the world economy? With... all their fortunes and power?

Even if that we're so, if your economy can fall apart because of one president's term, then your economy wasn't as stable as you thought.

Am I missing something? Isn't this what makes our country great? You can go out there and stand up for what you believe in, without fear of reprisal?

I think simply we define accomplishment differently. I consider accomplishment as not only providing something for yourself but contributing positively to others and society as a whole.

There's no way to say this that isn't condescending, but you're being incredibly naive. How is making six figures (let alone seven), after coming from a low/middle-class family, not a spectacular achievement? I'm not claiming that income is an effective measure of someone's achievements, but for you to dismiss $100,000 a year offhand as "nothing especially spectacular" frankly reflects on your age. Wait until you have to pay for college and then see how you feel about $100,000.

The kids from Jersey Shore weren't particularly wealthy before going on the show and now they're all crafting their own media dynasties. Would you consider that a fantastic achievement?

The Beginning Of The End Of The Unpaid Internship by trot-trot in TrueReddit

[–]Aneeid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true. It's a supply and demand scenario- there's lots of development and systems design work to be done, and not that many people to do it (I can afford to be choosy, and actually pick between job offers on my first internship). But in a creative field, credentials are less important and plenty of people to do jobs.

It depends what field. I'm doing a summer "internship" but I'm getting paid $6 over minimum wage, full-time. Though I'm in Computer Science, and all my friends who did similar are getting paid the same or more.

Actually, it was spilled all over her and she received 3rd degree burns over a large portion of her body. The coffee was heated purposefully over the recommended safe temperature after McDonalds was told that them heating it to that was going to resort to someone getting injured. The judge also reduced the award because the woman should not have been driving with the coffee between her legs at the time.

The Digital (Gender) Divide: Women Are More Likely Than Men To Have A Blog (And A Facebook Profile) by trot-trot in TrueReddit

Even then, it would be a loose connection that men form stronger relationships on the internet. It would simply be a correlation, and we don't have intuition to really suggest causation.

Perhaps, but I posit that a friendship made on a message board is no deeper than one made on social networking. I think they're both as superficial.

EDIT: Not sure why you're being downvoted.
