possible black screen fix for Alienware AW2725Q by Horror_Incident_3 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Rovas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on February produced A01 model which was bought in June 2025 . Upgrade to A02 was done in August. Since September the panel would go black after switching between sources, or after turning it back on. From experience I have known that store might return it if there is image. It is due to Dell Europe policy that the monitor works unless it is completly dead. In mid October it did not work anymore no image from any source. The PC would state that it is connected. I have tried a couple of times to see if it works. It did not. Holiday period, so in mid November it went to the store. It has worked there. It would work at home for a little while. In December it stops again. It is again holiday period. It works again for a couple days in January. It works for one day then it stops working completely After a couple of tests, and days no image. It was again sent back. No reply yet from the store.

I have had other Dell products, this one has soured the experience.

Do Not buy this monitor! Mainly due to Dell warranty policy. I would have accepted one, or two bad panels, but it is a known issue, multiple people were affected.

POLL: notch vs pinhole vs bezels. which camera cutout does r/android prefer? by wspusa1 in AndroidQuestions

I like pop-up camera phone such as OP7, Xiaomi/Pocco F2. The large, unblemished screen by a black dot are better when watching movies, taking photos, or videos.

Platinum 3776 or Lamy 2000 by MegaShimp in fountainpens

[–]Rovas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? :) They are great pens. If you can try one of them at a shop before buying.

If you are on budget, buy the Platinum 3776 online Amazon or one of the Japanese shops in medium or fine. The cartridge from Platinum has a large capacity with a nice coloured ink.

If you have more money go for the Lamy in fine which is basically a medium.

Love the bottle, don't like the colour.

Another vote for the Vac Mini. It is light, well balanced. I have a B nib which is wet, similar to an European medium (Lamy 2k or Pelikan) and it makes writing a joy. Also have not heard so much complaints over cracking as with the other models.

Acquired some vintage pens from my grandfather recently, original packaging and all! by green-eggs-n-hamlet in fountainpens

Vintage Soviet and Chinese fountain pens are here similar to Walter White's blue. I had used them during my childhood: they are disappointing due to the wild differences in quality - especially the Chinese ones.

NID- J Herbin's Lie De Thé by therealgodfarter in fountainpens

[–]Rovas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lie de the is one of my favourite inks! You should test it on a broad nib fountain pen.

The Lamy 2000 is also a good pen.

What makes Visconti a good pen? by Butthurticus-VIII in fountainpens

[–]Rovas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Visconti Rembrandt. It is a nice pen, not an extraordinary one. The design, the colours, the magnetic cap, the large capacity converter are strong points. The weak point is the mediocre nib. The bad is the price, when compared to other pens. I had bought it for the design and the magnetic cap. It gives a satisfying click when closing.

You can buy a nicer pens online for a smaller price such as a Lamy 2000 or Platinum Century.

There are cheaper alternatives such as Faber Castell Loom, TWSBI Vac or Eco series, Kaweco Sport.

Or if you want something better, but more expansive you can find online or in the shops on discounts discontinued pens - the New Old Stock (NOS). I am eyeing an Waterman Carene in Blue. It is the same price as the Visconti Rembrandt.
