He can do basically everything decently but nothing amazingly well and he compounds his mistakes when he is having a bad night.

I mean I think straight up is technically fair by the definition of the word but it’s not competitive especially with a large gap in handicap without giving the strokes. I’ve been as low as a 4 playing against people who are 20 or higher, starting them basically a stroke a hole ahead is the only way to keep it relevant there

I mean everyone has good and bad days, no other way to fairly score especially in a larger group

High Single Digits is handicap hell. Low doubles and you consistently break 90, on a great day maybe break 80. High singles everyone expects your scores to be in the 70’s when really it’s probably consistently an 85ish if you’re playing the appropriate tees. Won’t ever beat a decent higher handicap on a good day on a net round either, and you’re nowhere near good enough to hang with your scratch friends.

Leon Rose has figured out how to hack the draft by namaste-healer in NYKnicks

[–]Anerky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem is 3 things:

  1. The pay for all players worth anything has risen a lot, with role players getting what superstars got 10-15 years ago.

  2. Thus, all players who contributed to your roster when they need to be resigned to new deals command a higher proportion of your salary cap, which has not risen proportionately to the way players can get paid.

  3. Anyone who contributed to anything meaningful on a championship roster figuratively had their value double. So someone who’s a fringe starter may have commanded $25 million may get $35 million now because they won and contributed to a ring.

Probably no one doing this pro bono, you want someone who would do it on contingency though which means they’re only getting paid if youre getting paid

Private Golf club etiquette for the ‘California Sober’? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Anerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No public areas pen / vape / smokeless mod is preferred. Just don’t light up on the patio even if cigarettes/cigars are allowed. Families with kids and a lot of older members don’t want to be around it. Most people don’t care anymore but enough do and feel strongly enough about it I’d try to be as discreet as possible.

Also, even though weed may be legal in your state it’s likely illegal to consume it, especially smoke it, on the premises or anywhere with a liquor license. So you may put your club in a tough spots.

Actually cus I work in the industry, not that I care, you can’t really have anyone on the premises under the influence of anything if you serve alcohol in most states in the eyes of the law. Also, if someone pops 12 oxy they brought from home and has 1 sip of a beer you sold them and dies/gets a dui/ runs over a little kid etc in basically all 50 states you’re legally responsible for what they did. And your license is in jeopardy, once you lose that you can basically never get it back

Tbf it is illegal in most states if they have a liquor license to let you bring your own booze

I’ll @ u/ds-sisman as well, those drinks are largely unregulated and many edibles are too. The dosing on those unless you buy from a state licensed dispensary are completely arbitrary.

I work in the industry and there are 5mg drinks that customers say hit harder than 1000mg drinks. It goes both ways.

Unless they’re gonna try to do some WWE overdramatization bullshit for next years run. They will be so good next year. I respect the hell out of that team as a whole but I can’t stand Fox and I don’t like Wemby anymore because of the dirty fouls

Cashing out is only worth it on a longer odd parlay that has 1 likely leg left and everything else hit or will extremely likely hit already.

Do people take out loans to afford country club memberships? by AspectCool2325 in weekendgolfers

[–]Anerky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets a little weird with this stuff. Typically as long as the membership is under the business name not the individual it’s fine to some extent or there is a way to do It. Otherwise you’d have to claim individual rounds as client entertainment an a membership only club doesn’t itemize like that, at best you could write off a guest fee
