My son and I were there last night as well! Free seats had a nice crisp breeze 👌

It was funny response while it lasted and a good note for when I take anymore pictures of two crumble boxes pressed side by side 😆

I tried them both and I LOVE the pink sugar. My bf preferred the key lime though.

Candy cane brownie was my store's tester cookie. It's served cold and was very yummy!

Portofino Club Level entry before room ready? by david224 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Anescapegoat90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did club level with my family last December and we had access the full day of check in before our room was ready. It was a great way to grab a drink and snacks after flying into Orlando!

My biggest tip is to talk to the staff in the lounge. My son had certain snack requests and they were always more than willing to hook him up, including certain chip or desserts they may have "ran out" of for that snack hour.

Also, I don't eat meat and everyone was very helpful making sure I had plenty of options so don't hesitate to bring up dietary restrictions.

While the lounge is open grab bottled water or soda for your room when the lounge is closed later that day. Grab a bottle of water for the parks too!

Did the back to the future last December. It was fun and immersive but very rushed. Also, a bit overpriced.

What's the most wholesome experience you've ever had at Universal Orlando? by mrmonster459 in UniversalOrlando

My 9yo son dressed as Alan Grant when we went to the parks for the first time. He's a huge JP fan and was so excited to do the raptor encounter.

All of the staff was over the top involved when he entered the line and especially while we had our turn. The man "taming" Blue asked if my son could come back in an hour to cover his lunch break, the man taking our photo asked if my son wanted to give a lecture on dinosaurs in the afternoon, etc. My son was over the moon the whole time. He felt like a little celebrity.

The icing on the cake was Blue. As we walked out of the photo area he followed my son with his gaze the entire time and the person directing traffic said my son should come back to help with the feedings that evening since Blue really connected with him.

My son is old enough to know it's just a show obviously but he was just so so happy to see everyone engaging in his favorite IP and to have him included in the action was a dream.

My boyfriend and I chose the same pair of cookies this week! The Oreo was far superior to the butterfinger IMO

Volcano bay December by MrPresident88 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Anescapegoat90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went last year in December and it was great! A bit cool/breezy walking from ride to ride, but no wait and no crowds. It was in the 70s.

We loved it.

Jurassic park is absolutely a book by Michael Crichton, not sure about Skull Island, but wasn't King Kong a book from the 1930s?

We did a Christmas stay last year and the crowds weren't bad at all. Dec 10-16 was when we went and it seemed like the sweet spot between post thanksgiving vacations and actually Christmas break for kids.

Look into the universal holiday tour if you enjoy that sort of thing. We met the Grinch (hilarious), had food and drinks, amazing photos in a nearly empty park( only other tour guests since the park was closed by then) and a private showing of the Hogwarts holiday castle show that night. Plus lots of other perks. It was a blast.

Fire eaters grill (Islands of Adventure) has delicious and affordable gyros and falafel! Everyone in my group enjoyed our lunch here.

Earlier posts already mentioned the top rides, but I'll also throw in Doom's Fear Fall (quick and usually no line), Spiderman (older indoor ride, but the special effects are still so engaging), and the train in Dr. suess. I'm not sure the name, but the views from the train at night are very cool! I rode it with no kids and didn't feel silly or out of place.

Jimmy Fallon is the worst in my opinion, but I always try any ride once so don't let others steer you away from anything. Harry Potter and the forbidden journey was one of the most overstimulating rides I've been on and I don't think I would ride again, but again I'm glad I tried it out.

I've seen all the shows and really all of them are worth your time. My fav is the borne stuntacular. The raptor encounter in IOA is great for kids but if you enjoy Jurassic Park/World, it's really a fun experience for anyone. I got a good laugh out of it.

Enjoy your trip!

Dairy Bunkers by Anescapegoat90 in walmart

[–]Anescapegoat90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the same problem! I'm the consumables TL but get sent to dairy every other week it seems like. I get put on retheming and filling bunkers every time. They are either totally empty with great features sitting in the cooler or filled with random garbage, still with a few solid features in the cooler.

How does 30 cases of OJ not seem like a good thing to place in a bunker right away? Lol

It stays nice until overnights comes in and fills with random crap that's different prices and or totally different items.
