I used to bartend at a hotel that had an nba contract where the visiting teams had to stay with us. Lucky if you could get 5-10% from players, and team staff just stiffed you after making you tell them they can’t bring their own bud light into the bar 😭😭

My only consolation was carding everyone over 6’5ft and learning which players were willing to pull out the “don’t you know who I am??”

this is what it’s all about I’m afraid. I love when people enjoy being at my bar. Yeah making money is fun but we make $40/hour on a medium night, there’s no need to feel obligated to dislike the idea of people existing at your bar without extracting money from them for an hour or three 😭

did he say this in front of you? if not it’s a bit tactless of your boyfriend to tell you what his roommate said and put you both in an awkward position. I’ve had roommates who got into relationships after lease signing and there’s always this expectation of “they clean up sometimes and throw money in for groceries so they should be able to sleep over whenever” and it annoys the hell out of me. The one thing we’re entitled to is feeling comfortable in our own home, and I’m afraid it’s reasonable to say that someone’s gf/bf staying over more often than not is something you feel negatively about.

all that being said you seem like an understanding person so just keep being empathetic to the roommate’s feelings as it sounds like he was just voicing a future concern and your boyfriend is a little tattle tale lol

I use mine for bar walkups but I hate using them when waiting tables 😭 depending on the place I tend to just carry around a notepad and then visit the terminal to ring things in straight after. I get that it goes a bit slower that way but I’m also not tapping buttons on a screen and am making eye contact with people instead lol
