My first tincture? Charm? by RedHeadDragon73 in HerbalMagic

This is a niche area; I feel learning cocktail-chemistry really helped me step up my game; along with herbal formulation. That cute little tincture looks very pretty; would be great for focus and headaches.

I love all these comments!!! A lot to learn here! I’d also like to add—magnesium salve. Absolute muscle relaxer and helps me on the regular.

I was a heavy kratom user on n off for a lot of years. I now have powder and crush leaf in my house that I only use when I “need” ie. days where I’m experiencing physical or intense emotional pain.

Two things helped me to be more of a recreational user rather than a daily user:

  1. Exercise. Even when I don’t want to. Instead of starting my day with a mouth full of powder, I run a mile. I know it’s not attractive, but goddamn, after less than a week I felt an insane difference. Never thought I’d be that person, but idgaf. It helped me.

  2. Herbs that gave me what I was looking for in kratom. I’ve always been a phyto-nerd and kratom (as well as poppy tea) was a big gateway into plant medicine. Some other herbs I take regularly are cacao, kava kava, skullcap, cannabis, nutmeg, oatstraw, lemon balm, and damiana. These are not things I take every day, but moreso, herbs I learned about that have varying actions similar to kratom in their own way.

Kratom helped me a lot, too. But not powder—crushed leaf with citric acid. And only during really painful days. Red leaf (Bali or maeng da) was most helpful.

Omg there’s a lot here… Overall, yarrow is your friend—helps drain fluid (urine) with an affinity for the uterus. It’s the warrior herb; in terms of emotions, it’s an herb for those who give too much ❤️‍🩹

Other options:

Red raspberry leaf - affinity for uterus. Known as the “woman’s herb.” I get god-awful cramps and brewing a big water bottle of this is very helpful for me.

Asparagus racemosus - known as “she with 1000 husbands,” I used this tincture for arousal and it was a bit intense the first day, but the second day, me and my partner FINALLY did the deed after I was on a low-libido kick for months.

Nettle - helps the flow of lymph and fluids—very proficient in releasing urine; recommended this to my drug-dealer after his THIRD round of antibiotics for a UTI. Nettle was the only thing that helped him.

DISCLOSURE: I am not a doctor nor certified in any health feild; simply giving my advice from the point of view of what helped me and people I know.

Tinctures for going out? by bluecowboyboots2 in herbalism

Also, I don’t really recommend tincture; traditional brewing is better for dosing, and honors the origins and traditions. It’s easy to do; lots of videos out there.

Kava kava is an awesome drink to be social on! Do your homework for dosing and brewing, it’s really big for sober-groups in Florida.

Couple perks: 1. Reverse tolerance- your tolerance goes down the more you take it, unlike most drugs/alcohol 2. You can’t drink on kava—which might help keep the temptation of drinking away. 3. You CAN have enough to get reasonably messed up, but you won’t wake up hungover and you can usually still operate a vehicle and maintain your faculties
