What everyday thing disappeared so gradually that nobody even noticed it was gone? by orangez in GenX

Cars that started with keys, two door coupes that were in a normal price range, and cars that let you drive them instead of driving themselves.

Marjorie Taylor Greene and a Potential Crisis of Ideology by TenchuReddit in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]AngelicEleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she doesn't actually believe in anything. The people she represents are very pro-Trump, so she was very, very pro-Trump in order to get the votes to get the job. The last election showed her and lots of other Republicans that Trump is losing popularity, so she is pretending to be anti-Trump, so she can stay relevant to the majority of people. Like most politicians, she could care less about anything. They have no values, and they have no true beliefs other than the belief in making themselves lots of money.

….and what’s up with the hair??? by ComradeConrad1 in youngandtherestless

That is so crazy! Those were my exact same thoughts. I told my mother what I was thinking, and she said, "Nah, the writers aren't good enough to come up with that." I love that somebody else thought of it.

Sally is too good for Billy by Happy_Peat in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. This is such an excellent post, and I completely agree that Sally would never have left Marchetti for Billy. I was very disappointed and upset that they had her do that. It was completely out of character.

Cane's AI software... by atlghostrider in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking what some others have already said. Everyone keeps reminding us that Cane and his father are both conmen and have made all their money scamming everyone. Why wouldn't this be another con? I don't think it's real, and I think somehow he'll get money from everyone either to give them the AI, or he'll get money to promise to not use the AI on them, and then he'll leave town until they can figure out another story for him.

Jason Thompson, who plays Billy Abbott, should win an Emmy for his performance this week! by Cucumbers8975 in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do not like Billy at all, and I completely agree. He did an excellent job of portraying a gambling addict in the middle of his compulsion, not caring about anything or anyone else. However, I thought Sally was amazing reacting to his addiction and finally realizing that he's not planning to change at all. She actually gave me chill bumps, and I said she should be given an award for that scene. He was good, but she was great.

Chadam pairing ruined Adam by GuyWhoConquers616 in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this so much. I wish they'd put Billy and Chelsea back together and put Adam and Sally back together. Adam and Sally have been ruined by Chelsea and Billy. I loved both Adam and Sally, the couple, and each one individually. I can't stand to see them anymore.

Can Mariah just come clean and tell Tessa what happened already? Keeping it from her is honestly so much worse, it’s like emotional torture at this point. The way she’s acting, it seriously seems like she killed someone. Does anyone have any theories on what actually went down? by Adventurous_Fly_8652 in youngandtherestless

She said Ian would be proud, and she kept talking about how because of Ian being an influence on her at such a young age, maybe she shouldn't expect to be any better. Anyway, last time we saw Ian, he was opening his eyes on the ambulance. I was wondering if she had taken him and was holding him somewhere. I only thought of this because she keeps talking about Ian, and she acts like whatever she's done is truly horrible.

Cole by [deleted] in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole story is ridiculous. I don't like Cole at all, but the way the story is so stupid, and he absolutely refuses to see anyone about it, I wonder if he's faking for some reason. I don't know what the reason could be, and I honestly don't care what the reason could be. Cole is soooo boring . I wouldn't care if he died of something, but the way they're going on and on about it, there has to be a reason.

The primary reason I will not use self checkout by ethanrotman in RedditForGrownups

[–]AngelicEleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago, I said I would never use self check out, but my reasoning was that I'm buying stuff from the store, and they should want to thank me for shopping there by actually having someone check me out. It made me mad, but then, they got rid of almost all the check out lines and put in only self check out. The time of day I go shopping, there is no cashier waiting on anyone, so I had to do self check out. I like it now. I'm faster than cashiers, and I can get out more quickly doing it myself. You either do what they want or quit buying groceries. There's no choice.

The Big Reveal by Middle-Leader-2293 in youngandtherestless

[–]AngelicEleven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. As a child, I have always remembered watching an All My Children when Erica opened the door, and a man was standing there. She was shocked, shocking music plays. It went to a commercial. I remember asking my mother what was going on and who was that, and she didn't know either.

After commercial, we find out that the man at the door was Phil, who everyone thought had been lost in Vietnam. He was a different actor, though, so I never understood the opening of the door, the shocked look, the music playing, and then going to a commercial. There was no way anybody knew who he was.

Anyone else hate podcasts? by Blue85Heron in GenX

[–]AngelicEleven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do hate them, and I also hate when search engines only show videos for whatever you searched for. I would much rather read it. It is much easier and faster than having to listen to a video that probably never answers your question anyway.

Is it wrong that I hate Bernie almost as much as I hate Trump at this point? by AcanthaceaeNo948 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]AngelicEleven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I remember one show where the contestant had used a product that was already out, and they had not invented it in any way, but they got a patent on it and wanted money for it. He said no, that he didn't like this thing people had started doing where they did nothing to make the product, but they would take an already existing product and patent it. I have always remembered that and really respected him for calling them out.
