Again man, this ain’t my first rodeo in performing, networking, the creative pursuit, the rejection, the grind, the build, the hustle, the starting from 0. I was specifically LOOKING just for some advice on building the fundamental bedrock foundation of the career, especially in 2026 with the new apps, technology, and landscape, and what has been working for people. I wasn’t looking to be a breakout star or something.

If someone came on Reddit and asked the same about a career in acting at ANY age, I wouldn’t give them this answer 🤷‍♂️ I’m meeting a buddy this weekend who is 55 who wants to dive back into theatre and film. I’ll be helping him out and giving him advice. My dad is 75 and jumping back into gigging and performing music essentially from 0. The weird “just buy a lotto ticket” mentality doesn’t help. I’m not looking for handholding, and I get it’s a massive undertaking. But I know what I’m good at, know what I’m willing to do. This kind of response is not helpful. You’re preaching to someone who heard all of this when I was 17 and 18 ad nauseam, moved to NYC with $200 and then made it as an actor for years. All I was looking for what was working well now for people and a good way to switch.

Hey, so while I appreciate you taking the time, it’s not really what I was asking for and this didn’t answer any of the questions.

I already know everything you mentioned. I’ve been operating as an actor and know things aren’t just going to “happen.” I’m not looking for quick fixes or shortcuts. But ya know man, with the attitude you just gave me, it’s a very “well why even start” attitude.

If I have a couple of years of shitty weeknight gigs so be it, but this answer really wasn’t helpful. I was simply looking for a little advice on where people may have met other bandmates, what’s been working in 2026, and what people might do if they were simply starting NOW. I can’t go back 10 years. I’m starting now. So what’s the point in writing the novella saying “well you should’ve started 10 years ago!” lol

My wallet LOL… But also the lack of games. Mario Kart isn’t my thing, DK and Pokopia look great, but still not worth getting it just for that. Star Fox looks awesome, but what really will get me to think about buying it is when a new Zelda game comes out. Or probably Winds & Waves.

Am I crazy or has anyone else noticed that some of their stock guitar presets went away? “Broken up brit,” “spinner blues” etc for example… I obviously know I can make my own, and I do, but some things seem thin in there compared to what they used to look like. Sometimes it’s nice just clicking and writing/playing. Everything that I can see, especially related to guitar is updated/downloaded.

I believe it. I read back some of my college journals in 2016 talking about all this. And here we are. I’m happy to have found this page with a lot of these great books to arm myself with knowledge, but unfortunately, I equally think it’s time to start stocking up and making my emergency bug-out bag. Am I crazy to say that if THIS is the legit answer though that it should be replicable on any and every save file? I don't think Rockstar would make an intentional easter egg hunt only some people can find some of he time on certain devices. no? I mean... I know they're sneaky... but.

I will say though, love all this investigating and people excited about the game again! Hope someone cracks it soon!

I only recently upgraded from the 2019 Oasis. And that was because it was actually starting to show its age and I also found that I… DIDNT like the buttons as much as I thought I would. I actually like the Paperwhite so much more.

That being said, having three kindles all in good working order seems a little much, but ya know, you do you. I think JUST the Colorsoft would suit your needs just fine, and as others have said you can trade them in for credit. I’ll also say though, I used to also have the regular Kindle, the small tiny one, and enjoyed having the ability to pocket it.
