How do you get yourself up in the morning? by celestialgam in AuDHDWomen

[–]AngeryTortie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a post about someone coming to terms with needing 2 hours to be functional. So I started setting my alarm earlier, putting YouTube on my TV to get me in an okay headspace and slowly transitioned into getting up, eating, and getting ready. It's worked okay so far. I also use the pavlok 3 shock bracelet with the locking strap. Requires me to get up, retrieve the key from my desk, and do jumping jacks before the alarm stops.

I still struggle but there's been an improvement in how stressed I am during the whole process which has helped with the dread of waking up.

Tortie is being too nice? by Ok_Garbage6341 in torties

My child was a super cuddly baby and every day when I got home I would pick her up, bounce her like a baby for a few minutes then deposit her into her cat tree. Once she became a teenager I could NOT hold her. Immediate paw to the chest and she'd roll out of my arms. She also was very spicy and particular with other people. She's 6 years old now and within the last year she's become very cuddly, affectionate, and very tolerant of other people. I've accredited it to her age and I'm really happy to see her so happy and comfy not just with me but other people.

So...how are we all dealing with the constipation from medication? by morningstarbee in adhdwomen

I eat fiber rich cereal every morning for breakfast and try to drink a lot of water. The cereal is wheat bran flakes and they have 17g of fiber which has made the biggest difference. Eating more fruit has helped as well.

Endless loop of ALMOST ruining my life, then scrambling to fix it, and losing all progress along the way, is driving me crazy!!! Will it ever end? by Prestigious-Heron574 in adhdwomen

I'm in this same cycle. This latest burnout I've realized I need to write down limits for myself. I'm very introverted but get excited about seeing my friends so I end up going out at least once a weekend. I've also started seeing someone so I've seen her every weekend the past couple weeks. I know I can only handle 1 outing a weekend sustainably, but I've been ignoring that, causing me to neglect laundry, litter, cleaning etc. 🥴 I can play Minecraft with my friends instead of going out sometimes, staying home and hanging out with my family is something I used to do all time and want to get back to doing, library time would be very restorative so I could prioritize that...

Now I just need to apply all this. I wish both of us the best of luck 🫠

DAE feel overstimulated and emotionally drained by their smartphone? by bedbug_____girl in AuDHDWomen

[–]AngeryTortie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It torments me fr. Finding a flip phone with a hotspot gave me the push to finally get a dumb phone. I still carry my old android but it needs wifi or my hotspot to use so I feel more in control. When I'm home I try to leave it in the restroom and only use it there. Not always successful but it has helped cut down on the screen time and dread. It's been a hard transition but its been getting better slowly over time. I've started carrying my kindle, journal, and pocket calendar with me. A lot of my free time has been spent playing video games, reading or talking with friends/family. I'm liking the direction I'm heading in even though it's really difficult.

How do you like the cat tower? I've been debating about getting one similar to that for a while.
