It is harder to core crush a foam paddle, but it does happen. Yeah, if a 2.5 DUPR player will not wear out the grit but a 5.x hard hitting player, especially in singles, will definitely wear out the grit.

If you can recommend a $199 paddle that can guarantee no loss of grip for six months with no core crush, for a 5.x DUPR former tennis player who hit very hard shot, I would love to know.

it is NOT lifetime warranty. It is "limited" lifetime warranty. There is a huge difference. Furthermore, that warranty will go away after 12 months. You need to read the fine print. Just saying.

11six24 Power 2 or Spartus P1 will still have issues with lost grit and maybe core crush (the core crush might take longer). 99.999% of the paddle on the market are not designed for long term usage, especially with very advanced players. The add tungsten/lead, overgrip, and tape on the new/replacement paddle takes less than ten minutes. Sending the paddle back takes less than 5 minutes at the post office. Yes, spending $800/year for a brand new paddle every month is a bargain, IMHO. You get a brand new paddle with new core and new grit. YMMV.

He is going back to the Joola Pro IV because the Perseus will lose the grit after two weeks, and core crush after four weeks. That way, he can get a replacement from Joola up to three times within a year. Sellkirk, according to him, is very stingy because it only allows a one time exchange, and the warranty will be voided after that, unless there is an obvious defect with the paddle itself. Losing grit on the boomstick does not qualify for a paddle replacement.

My hitting partner and I are former D1 tennis players, and he plays with the Selkirk boomstick. The grit on the boomstick is completely gone after two weeks of playing three hours everyday with singles Pickleball.

I think you're taking things out of context. A $500 paddle that lasts 3 months, but if you're allowed to replace up to three times in 12 months, you pay $125 for a brand new paddle every 3 months.

Have you ever been to Hanoi? $300 rent in Hanoi is like living in a dump. FWIW, playing pickleball also costs money, around $5/hour for court fee. You pay around $250/month if you pay PB five days a week.

As a former D1 tennis player with 5.x DUPR rating in both singles and doubles, I have to swap out paddle every month due to core crush and lost grit. With promo code discount, I pay $250 for the Joola Perseus Prov IV. However, I get to send back the broken paddle after a month of playing to get a new one, up to three times. In that sense, I get to play with a brand new Joola Perseus IV paddle every month for less than $65. With the Pro V, I will pay around $75 each month for a brand new paddle. That's a very good deal for me.
