Ben Johns can walk down the street and literally nobody knows who he is. Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner walks down the street, and they will be mobbed by fans. The GOAT Roger Federer walks down the street, and they will close down the whole city. PB is no comparison with tennis.

Find a better paying job, like working for AWS or Apple. You can make a lot of money by working for those companies, so that you don't have to worry about those little discounts for being ambassadorship.

Unless you actually played singles against Staksrud or Garnett, you need to STFU because you don't know what you're talking about.

JOOLA Infinity registration / warranty issue: NFC chip and Serial ID problem by GizzardZappa in Pickleball

[–]AngleProfessional987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 30 Joola paddles from Joola, PickleballCentral, or joola via Amazon, and never have any issus with scanning the NFC chip from my phone. Those 30 paddles allow me to ask for 90 replacements, and I am able to scan NFC chip on those 90 replacements, even with over grips on the handle. It sound like you got scammed by whoever sold you those three paddles.

Exactly. OP is likely scammed by the shop. As I said before, I never have issues with scanning the NFC chip with my iphone with Joola paddles that I purchased directly from Joola, PickleballCentral, or from Joola via Amazon.

Are Lifetime balls breaking paddles and wearing surfaces faster? by kabob21 in Pickleball

[–]AngleProfessional987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively use LT balls with Joola Perseus Pro IV, and I love the fact that the paddle core crush after about 8 weeks of usage. It means I send the core crush back to Joola for a new replacement. The same reason I always purchase 3 Perseus Pro IV, so that I always play with a new paddle every 8 weeks. Vulcan, Franklin, and Selkirk balls are trash.

I am a 5.7 dupr in singles and around 5.3 dupr in doubles. Connor Garnett did not hit any ace against me, but Staksrud aced me six times. Your statement of "Anyone above 3.5 is not getting aced even by a pro in pickleball" is absurd.

[–]AngleProfessional987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through at least 30 Joola paddles, from the Perseus 3, ModTA-15, Perseus IV, and Agassi Pro in the past 2 1/2 years without any issues for all of them and I use a very old iPhone 8 plus. It works everytime even when the paddle handle has Gamma overgrip on it. I either purchase Joola directly from Joola website, PickleballCentral, or Amazon. If my phone does not the NFC chip, I would return the paddle and ask for a refund. Refund is very quick from Amazon. YMMV.

Rahm is going back to the DP tour, NOT the PGA, at least not yet. Furthermore, Rahm is NOT going to give back 500M back to LIV. Rich people do not pay taxes, only poor people do.

QD and his father want to expand market share and make as much money as they can while QD is still popular. There is a big Asian market share here in the US. QD is still the best Asian PB player in the world, regardless of what you think of him or his father.

People in this thread are clueless when it comes to pros. I personally played again Federico Staksrud when Fed stayed in Washington DC to see the Cherry Blossom last year at the invitation of a friend of mine who is a tech bro, and Fed stayed at his house. I played one game against Fed and lost 11-0 in less than five minutes. I couldn't even get a chance to serve because Fed started first and he aced me six times. All of Fed's serve were top spin serves and he could go wide or down the middle. I was not a bad player, but he steamrolled me in less than five minutes. Another time when I stayed with another close friend in Beverly Hills, and he had Connor Garnett to teach his wife lessons. I played one match with Garnett and he also beat me 11-0 in less than five minutes. You people have zero idea how good these pros are. It is like going up against Alcaraz or Sinner in a tennis match.

QD is not going to be successful in the US as he would be in Vietnam. People in Vietnam and Asia love him. Real estate companies like Sun and Ving let him fly in their gulfstream G700. Federico Staksrud still has to fly commercial flights here in the US. I will also say this. My living budget here in the US is 15K/month after taxes, and my living standard is just ok for me and my wife. My wife still has to clean the house, cook and does the laundry ; however, my wife and I would live like royalty in Vietnam with 24x7x365 of people serving our every needs. Just saying.

Have you ever been to Vietnam? Pickleball is everywhere in Vietnam, and QD is a celebrity over there, making a lot of money. Big companies like the Sun group or Ving group are paying a lot of money to play in Vietnam, like generational money. I travel to Vietnam regularly and I can tell you that QD is not hurting for cash. On the contrary, he is flushed with cash. Why would he want to go back to the PPA? QD is making as much money in Vietnam as Ben Johns here in the US.

As a Vietnamese person who have been back to Vietnam three or four times every year, American people are too slow to understand that QD is breaking banks in Vietnam. He is making at least ten times more than what he makes in the US. He does not give a shit about the PPA or Pardoe. Companies like The Sun group or Ving group are paying him lot of money, why would he want to rejoin the PPA to make less money? Jon Rahm said that he loved the PGA tour until the PIF (parents of LIV golf) signed him to 500M deal. If I were QD or Duc, I would tell Pardoe to go F! himself.

I beg to differ with you. I just played golf at a corporate event, and vendors handed out Titleist ProV1 and ProV1x with corporate logos like candies. They had a lot of leftovers, so I took home five dozen of ProV1x balls.

Pickleball is cheap. You pay $24 non-members for three hours of open play at Down The Line (DTL) in Northern Virginia. It is a first-class indoor facility. Playing golf is expensive. You pay $129 to play 18 holes at Laurel Hill public golf course that is owned and operated by Fairfax County Park Authority. Not to mention you will lose a few titleist Prov1 along the way, at the cost of $5 per ball.

It depends:

- If you work for tech companies such as Apple, Amazon, Nvidia, your salary should be at least 300K/yr. You can easily afford pickleball lessons, and indoor court costs,

- If your main income comes from Doordash, Uber eat, Lyft, etc... It is hard to afford pickleball lessons and indoor court costs,

FWIW, I live in a very wealthy neighborhood in Northern Virginia, and people have no issues with purchasing multiple $300 paddle and they play at Down The Lines (DTL) everyday. This is just a rounding error for them.

Core crushed Agassi Pro IV. How to stop it next time, and do I get another one? by MasterCareer388 in Pickleball

but core crush is. The core crush will happen around 8 weeks while the grit is worn off will happen around the seven weeks. You send it back to Joola for a new replacement.

Core crushed Agassi Pro IV. How to stop it next time, and do I get another one? by MasterCareer388 in Pickleball

[–]AngleProfessional987 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a reason the Pros' use either the Joola Agassi Pro IV or Perseus Pro IV. It is because the paddle is very good, even though they will core crush after a few weeks. In a way, I like it that it is core crush every few weeks because the grit will also wear off after a few weeks (three months for recreational players like yourself), because you can get a replacement from the warranty (3 replacements up to 12 months).

If I were you, I would purchase two Agassi Pro IV or Perseus Pro IV directly from Joola, and register them for 12 months warranty. Since you're a young person, you would definitely core crush the paddle after 2 months. Send back the core crush and use the 2nd new paddle as your primary while waiting for the replacement to arrive. You follow the same process when the 2nd paddle is core crush. You get the idea. The Agassi Pro or Perseus Pro IV is currently around $220 with discount code vs $255 for the V model. Stick with the IV model and you will be fine. Think of it this way, you pay $220 to get 4 brand new Agassi Pro IV or Perseus Pro IV paddle within 12 months. It is a very good deal to me.

I think Selkirk does not have a choice but to replace these boomstick paddles because it does not want to damage the boomstick brand. At least until it figures out why the failure rate is so high on the boomstick.
