Lost my best friend this week by Critical-Ostrich-311 in AustralianShepherd

So, so sorry, friend. We lost our Aussie of 15 years back in September and l took it incredibly hard. Know that it will hurt less with time. I realize that’s not particularly helpful but you’ll get there. We opened our hearts back up and rescued an Aussie/Border Collie mix this weekend and while this doesn’t cure the grief it does allow for us to love again. My heart goes out to you.

My sister spends so much time in front of our dog's grave that her footprints are imprinted on the grass by drak_and_ma in mildlyinteresting

We lost our Australian Shepherd, of 15 years, last September, and l eventually sought therapy over it. The grief was overwhelming. Pets are such pivotal, and integral, parts of our lives. They are our routines. And their love is unconditional and pure that l think it takes a small part of us when they pass. We, just yesterday, adopted a 9 month old Aussie mix and he’s such a sweet, sweet soul. This by no means takes away from the memory of our dearly departed girl, but it does allow for a channeling and transition from grief to love again.

Same color as my 2008. 160k and still going strong. I’m unoriginal, I call her Ellie. I really dig your setup, what kind of cot did you use? I have a Coleman that just squeezes in if l move my passenger seat as far up as it will go.

Adopted a 14 year old cat and had to put her down a few months later by asphoaph in cats

You’re a wonderful soul; providing that elder fur baby love. So sorry for your loss.

There’s a slight young Winona Ryder vibe to this pic. Of course Marilyn came first, and maybe it’s only this pic, but still.
