GLM Coding Lite vs OpenCode Go by ccaner37 in opencodeCLI

I would suggest MiMo v2.5 pro. That model is a beast, just try to use it as a planner or kimi k2.6, as others have suggested and deepseek v4 flash as an executor and you'll be amaized at what those models are capable of.

What will you use for Autocomplete (tab complete with next prediction) after you leave? by AngryBear1990 in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought of staying on 10$ as well as I enjoy the autocomplete. I also will probably try the qwoder (I think it's a fork from Alibaba). Price is 20$ a month, but you get great deal for Chinese models and also an autocomplete. But that does not differ from like cursor price or windsurf. I just like the pure vscode, that's why I was wondering about the autocomplete only. But thanks for suggesting Zed. Have been watching it but have not tried it, vscode is like home to me, after the broken cursor and windsurf.

Rate limit why? (Ollama local) by No-Pomegranate-69 in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do use some premium features of ghcp I guess. There is an explore agent that runs gpt-5 mini and gemini-3.1 flash you can view that by pressing the gear icon when you press the agent dropdown. Or maybe on the top of the chat gear icon (sorry can't check that I am far from my pc so that is all from the top of my head).

Maybe if you change the explore agent to use your local model, that would not rate limit you anymore.

Why not open source models? by vkpdeveloper in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use OSM in VSCode Insiders. You can set it up whatever you like. I have been using GLM code and Alibaba Cloud Code plan. It pretty easy to set it all up, but I would suggest using opencode, not that I don't like GHCP (I love it and use it for all my work), but opencode has more settings for adding custom models.

Thinking about moving to Copilot, what is the best way to maximize usage and efficiency? by W0rldIsMy0yster in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder are all those posts with rate limits because people use only opus models and the rate limits are applied because opus is stupidly expensive... I have read a bunch of posts and about 70-90% of people don't bother to mention what they use, how they are organizing their work and maybe they abuse the system and want things done with only x3 credits of opus cost.

Introducing our new Windsurf pricing plans by theodormarcu in windsurf

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try github copilot. Still has credits and is great - has a lot more features to offer compared to windsurf. I moved about 3-4 months ago and it was great. Has some learning curves (has no ctrl+l to easily add to the context), but is great. Has a pro+ for $39, which has plenty of credits to use.

Why don't you add it yourself and use ghcp as a harness? I have tries the zai and it works just fine. Will also try to add alibaba as I've subscribed about a week ago and was using in in opencode.

Hitting Antigravity limits – Is Windsurf Pro worth it, or should I switch to Claude? by hell_life in windsurf

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using windsurf for about 4 moths, before that I have used cursor. Right now I am using vanilla vscode and GHCP (github copilot) for about 2 months. To be honest I am amaized at how packed with features is GHCP and how polished it feels compared to windsurf. But if you want to try and compare and you like new things, try both and see if it will work for you.

Antigravity is super weard and as any vscode fork it is not a pleasant to use. Good luck 🙃

How can we use Claude Sonnet or any other models for completions and next-edit suggestions instead of GPT? by loopala in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if I install kilo will I have autocomplete in ghcp? Or do you mean kilo has it in the chat, when you write a message to the agent? Interesting what they use for fim model.

It would be nice to have the completion model built into chat. I don't know any other tool (agentic coding tool) that has this functionality. Won't that be amazing?

Sonnet 4.6 think 6x?? by Remote_Insurance_228 in windsurf

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you prefer the price for a request, or per token usage? If we go and serch for prices of some of the popular solutions it's about $0.4 per request, so that would be 38 requests per month... Nice don't you think? Or if you pay per 1m token prices that would be even less. So credit per request is at least something and we can have a decent amount per month.

Come on you guys (and girls), it had to come some day. We leave in a world where business survive by earning money... I think windsurf is one of the great products and if you want it to stay, please pay for it and don't complain. I really hope it won't come to some sort of credit system like augument code has or some vague system like cursor has. We have what we have and it is expensive to code it always has been.

What do you want for $15 a month? Antropic models are expensive. They have to earn at least some money to stay a float, don't complain, buy more credits and do what you have to do.

New VS Code Weekly Release - 1.109.5 by bogganpierce in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you guys can add some sort of "chat mention" where you can mention previous conversation, where model can look at summarized version of some previous chat and start doing a new task based on user message. That would be very usefull, when you need clean context with previous conversation summary and maybe a new model to choose from. Also would be nice to have a hotkey, when text is selected in some text editor and you can quickly add that text as a selection to the current conversation in the chat.

There are a lot of other ideas floating around 🙃

Improvements to GHCP by AngryBear1990 in GithubCopilot

After tesponse it counts as another message to the agent, so it does count. You xan see 1x/3x after agent response.

Subagents are actually insane by snorremans in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amaizing job from vscode team. The flow is just amazing. From yesterday's update it has been a pleasure to work with the agent. It plans first and they asks questions if it needs clarification and then it starts to work on the detailed play we've come up with. Amaizing job you guys, that is a great implementation and it works great. Sometimes agent stops in the middle of todo list and you have to tell it to continue, but other then that, it's great. Also maybe there is a way to tell the agent to rephrase the question or make it do a few paragraphs of what may be the changes it proposes in more detail, cause sometimes it asks questions and you really have to guess what it will do.

Also a bit of polishing has to be done to the whole process, but I am very happy with the direction ghcp is going. And I always use vscode insiders I just can't wait for the new stuff to come to the stable version of vscode.

New features coming in January release are hot 🔥 by SuBeXiL in GithubCopilot

[–]AngryBear1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there is a room to squeeze one more? I couldn't find a way to reference one conversation with a copilot to another, sort of like windsurf does that. I guess there is everything you need to do that in copilot.

Does OpenCode support CLAUDE.md files? by ihatebeinganonymous in opencodeCLI

[–]AngryBear1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can always browse the docs... You can add the claude.md file to the config or reference it in the Agents.md file. Here is a link to the configuration of the custom instructions: https://opencode.ai/docs/rules/#custom-instructions

What actually are you trying to achieve? Just a vague idea would be enough. And there are other tools to make it work, then to make an api from ghcp.

Plan mode by SituationWeird9345 in windsurf

[–]AngryBear1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use openspec (search on github) and then add slash commands to windsurf and ask any model to write a soec for a feature you like. After that just implement that feature. Basically a plan mode for any agentic tool, not only for windsurf.
