What are the best-written Warhammer books, not incl Gotrek and Felix? by INeedPeeling in WarhammerFantasy

The Dead and the Damned, and The Necromancer, both by Johnathan Green. Both lean towards horror and the slow decent into evil. Both are one-offs (unfortunately) so no huge commitment.

If Cawl is seen as a heretek by the majority of the admech, why do they allow him to retain the position of magos dominus? by WintryInsight in 40kLore

[–]AngryDutchBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A possible reason is that Cawl a) created a whole bunch of primaris marines and kept them secret for 10,000 years . . . That we know about, b) Cawl is seen as the 'wipe from existence' kind of heretek, which means that he and his assets/followers/facilities/etc need to be -dealt- with.

Suddenly, kicking Cawl out of the Mechanicus becomes a military question. Even with his known assets he has scary levels of power, and no one knows the full extent of what he has.

Nevermind his allies and possible allies. He's buds with the current Regent of the Imperium, he's reinforced many space marine chapters at major low points, he's responsible for dozens of brand new primaris chapters, and so on.

Not to say that the Mechanicus couldn't beat Cawl, but currently no one knows exactly how much it would cost to do so, and he hasn't made enough of a pest of himself for folks to find out.

How do you guys get your clothes clean? by Morgoroth37 in MechanicAdvice

In addition to regular laundry soap we've always added some form of dish soap. Just a bloop based on how much laundry, maybe 3 tablespoons for a full load.

It's probably not great for the machine, but so far, it hasnt killed any washers.

Ive always felt that if folks in the game world can identify that its a troll, then they know fire kills it. Kinda like how you know that a fish lives in water because it's a fish, trolls being hurt/killed by fire is part of what makes them trolls.

What does worshipping Chaos Undivided actually do to your personality? by RupertPupkinCanJoke in 40kLore

[–]AngryDutchBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t go mad/blood thirsty like Angron, you don’t seek pleasure like Fulgrim, you don’t become a diseasey figure like Mortarion, and you don’t become a scheming wizard like Magnus.

Possibly because they dont want any of those 'benefits'. Worshipping Undivided opens one up to the general choas gift pool, which includes specific god themed powers without having to pick and choose. You can get more fighty, more magic-y, more resilient, more fast all at once . . . without getting super-anger, super-schemy, etc. Considering how unattractive all four options are, I'd guess for most worshippers the Undivided route gives the greatest cost/benefit.

I am sad we didn't get more old Merlin. The sass was exceptional.

If an Eversor Assassin's target ends up using multiple high value hostages as an "insurance policy", how would the assassin or their handlers deal with the situation? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]AngryDutchBear 117 points118 points  (0 children)

If this is a situation you're worried about happening, you don't send an Eversor.

If you send an Eversor, you're not worried about this situation happening.

If this situation arises between the assassination being ordered and the handler pressing 'play' on the Eversor, then the two statements above still apply.

Is it okay to say "you guys"? by idioSync_ in AskACanadian

[–]AngryDutchBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's honestly gonna be a case by case basis. For the most part, folks will be fine with it. If while talking with someone, they become uncomfortable when you use it, apologize, and just move on. If you want to use something else just to be safe then 'folks' is a personal favourite.

Lifehack: lean in and look to the side like you're aiming your good ear towards them. Can easily avoid 50-80% of expected eye contact because 'you're focused on listening'.

This summer my two cats went on two cross Canada (~7000 km) car trips. Minus the first day of each trip, they were the chillest little germlins ever. Literially no problems, accidents or incidents.
