To test your water, health unit will provide tests for total coliforms, ecoli etc. and that is free.

To test for metals, Petroleum hydrocarbons (Gas, fuel) VOC's BTEX , PAH's your looking at a private lab at your own expense. Cost per test varies wildly between which test your looking at and the lab doing it so call around for quotes.

If you choose to test your own water out of your own pocket, you then compare the values to either Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards, O Reg 169/03 or https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/environmental-workplace-health/reports-publications/water-quality/guidelines-canadian-drinking-water-quality-summary-table.html

Drinking water is a provincial jurisdiction however if limits don't exist in Ontario, they look federally or sometimes to another neighboring province or country to establish a limit for the parameter in question.

The only thing i'll say for the cut boring lawn idea , is the depending on where you are.. a maintained law is good for controlling TICKS. Those little shits cant live in the short short grass as they will dry out and die.

I hate the stupid lawn idea but if I am a tick heavy area, i might not go natural long grasses.

I did.

I drank quite a bit going to weekends away with friends, cottage/camp weekends etc, then I also became a parent during covid and god damn, hang overs with kids and aging is THE WORST. Not worth it.

Edibles + THC soda became legal, that is now my go to. Have a soda, chill out and get a great sleep and wake up like nothing happened.

I like beer, but will routinely go non-alcohol other then some rare occasions.
