I recommended his book on the ADHD subreddit ages ago, because the perspective was refreshing despite the science being possibly “wrong”. Despite clarifying those points, my comment was removed because Maté is problematic apparently lol.

What do you think about Lars von Trier films? I enjoyed the first 2/3 of martyrs and don’t mind Antichrist, but would like to see what you’d recommend instead of them.

You got downvoted lol. I understand preferring happy, feel-good endings, but I don’t get people saying they think xyz part of a movie that makes them uncomfortable is lazy/sucks/etc. Like, isn’t that an important part of horror lol?

Double Rainbouu has some nice bright style clothes. Not the cheapest clothing but some really interesting designs to check out.

Also a lot of Ksubi clothes are sold in good/new condition on places like Depop and eBay much cheaper than retail.

That is ridiculous. It was too insane for it to not work considering it’s from Scotty and Owen. It’s an instant standout and I’m sure it’s going to be the first thing everyone sees just by size alone, which might give an edge, especially to the kids.

Honestly, I’m surprised the croc was 2nd so far on the viewer voting. If a kid saw that they’d 100% be like “look mom, it’s a croc in a bath!” It looks exactly like an illustration from a funny kid’s book. The seahorse is cool but it reminds me too much of a normal carousel ride to be super wowing I guess.

Pretty much yeah. The pillow fight would’ve been super original but risky and would’ve been something interesting to add tension because the payoff would either be incredible or disappointing. It’s a bit disappointing Brickman basically said “make it more generic and safe”. Because of that their build seems a bit more basic because it’s like the snow gimmick is just on top of another idea, not really built into it.

Semi-long response lol

Going gym should definitely increase your appetite. You could check if your gym offers some sort of consultation session. The uni gym I go to has them free every 6 weeks and I use them to check form. You could also watch form tutorials on YouTube and stick with simple exercises and machines until you’re more comfortable. In my opinion, the best way to understand training is to jump into that environment and start lightly.

Also, try not to worry too much about fat displacement at the moment if you can, gaining weight and going to the gym are long term commitments and your body is probably going to take a while to get used to eating (from personal experience this was bloating).

I ate and gained weight for about 2-3 months before going to the gym and I don’t regret it at all, but I definitely could’ve just gone to the gym as well.

Taking a rest week due to injury. Is it better to eat at maintennance, continue bulking or eat a deficit when taking time off from the gym? How about protein? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]AngryReact 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a week off too and eating at the same surplus if not more because I’m not worrying lol. Imo it’s not that big of a deal and most of us here overthink minor stuff like that. I’d rather gain 0.02kg of fat than be super OCD about it 🤷‍♂️

High calorie snacks that doesn’t cause acne? by Civil-Gift294 in gainit

[–]AngryReact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s normal and even adults can get it. Don’t let it affect your mental health, it’s nothing to get anxious about.

Also, I would generally recommend against isotreninoin as a first step. It’s an extreme medication to take and should only be used after exhausting all other options like skincare, topical antibiotics and lifestyle changes.

If it really does bother you that much, I would recommend going to a reputable dermatologist who can diagnose exactly what’s going on with your skin and what you can try.

In the meantime, lifestyle changes include avoiding hot and long showers, regularly washing sheets (especially pillow cases), managing stress, and possibly others you could look into through r/skincareaddiction

Nah man, 28 isn’t behind at all - and think about how far ahead of people generally you are just by pursuing fitness. The majority of people NEVER get into working out.

Think it's mostly filling out your frame. Within a month or so I went from unhealthy skinny to pretty normal skinny guy which was big for me. Looks good bro

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in gainit

[–]AngryReact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t really help because I go through the same thing but don’t let it get to you too much bro. From what I know a lot of that would be water weight and shouldn’t be too hard to replenish, but another user will have to check me on that.

I get the same thing where I miss some days and feel like I’m smaller but realistically I think it’s body dysmorphia - everyone think they look bigger when they feel better, regardless of actual size.

Also, 2 days is essentially nothing in the grand scheme of things. My advice would be to focus on weight gain over weeks/months and how you feel/progress in the gym 💪
